Does anyone know when Elvira got pied and on what episode/show? I used to be under the impression she was pied on a show called Practical Jokes and Gags. But since watching Movie Macabre a bit, I noticed some of the clips from that Thriller music video where she's pied are from Movie Macabre. Any guidance is appreciated!
If I remember correctly, it's impossible to find. It was during a local station special or something. Not on any main shows. Years ago someone was looking for the same clip on the forum and no one could find it.
Dammit.... I was hoping someone created this thread to say they found it.... Not bumping the same half-second clip that's been circulating for 20 years.
No idea if it's an actual special or just a standard Movie Macabre episode. The background is the same as the MMs from that year. Someone speculated that it was around the same time she did Attack of The Killer Tomatoes, which would be late '83 or early '84. Someone else also thought it was from the Homebodies episode, which has never surfaced.
Also RobbyWLP had this full clip once... and bragged to me about having it.... and then his basement flooded and the tape (DVD?) it was on got destroyed. And if you have a few spare weeks to go back through a decade of UMD posts, you can probably find 8 different occasions where I mocked him for this indirectly.
Yeah I've seen that. Curious if it was shot for this montage or if its a clip from a Movie Macabre episode.
It was definitely not shot for this montage. I've never seen the full scene, but it's been described by someone else who has, and there's some short amount of buildup to the pie which involves Elvira being very full of herself, and then getting her creamy comeuppance as a result.
The montage was shown (considerably later) on some show hosted by Dick Clark and Ed McMahon. Elvira was a guest on the show and I've seen a clip that has more of the montage and a bit of her talking to Dick and Ed after it. (I'm pretty sure this was on one of Hurley Coward's cliptapes.) The talk part on the tape wasn't complete, but it cuts in at a point where Elvira seems to be explaining that these scenes came from a time when she was only seen by a small regional audience. "So I want to thank you guys for letting me humiliate myself on NATIONAL television!" she concludes, chirpily.
Her lost pie scene footage is the same story as her lost wetlook scene footage, i.e. both of the scenes occurred only on the original local KCAL tv broadcasts of her show in Los Angeles, i.e. the version that included the local tv sponsors and their commercials. There were 140 of these local Movie Macabre shows that were made between 1981 and 1986.
All these comedy skits were done as blackouts for her local sponsors. For example, the partially missing wetlook scene I have from the local broadcasts of Movie Macabre shows Elvira with her local sponsor for the show, Coors Beer, where some pranksters soak her down with cans of beer spray.
What happened was, the local tv version of Movie Macabre was later syndicated and sold to many other stations across the USA. When they syndicated the show they edited out all the local commercials and the various slapstick skits she did with those sponsors.
Your only hope of finding those scenes today is to find a collector who taped the original broadcasts of the show, and not the syndicated and redacted version. Or, you could write to KCAL TV in Los Angeles to see if they still have those local shows in their archives.
Cassandra Peterson has not been as efficient at collecting and preserving all her archival footage as Rhonda Shear has been, because Rhonda now has her own YT channel where she shares all her archive tapes of "Up All Night".

Miss ya Robby! I know you're not reading this!!
What happened to Robby anyway? Did he go by the way of Leonmoomin?

I did see a semi-wetlook clip of Elvira this morning from her episode on "The Devil's Rain". It's brief and cuts out before you can really enjoy seeing her get wet. My guess is she got pied on the episode where she reviewed "Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?". Apparently that one had pies involved.
Elvira/WAM crossover is the dream. A producer, forget which, was allegedly in talks at one point to collaborate with her. Never too late I say (Cassandra seriously hasn't lost a bit of her beauty though)

That's a good option too. The fact that Robby obtained a copy of the full scene, years ago, means it IS out there circulating, somewhere.... albeit in a small circle that doesn't involve YouTube uploads. Maybe this thread prompts someone to shake it loose finally!
As for Robby.... He just decided to retire from the UMD one day. No specific reason, other than "it was time." Still in touch with him.... He says his future plans involve a tropical island and fruity alcoholic beverages.
As for Cassandra.... I figure if anyone has a spare $100K lying around, she might shoot a private pie scene for you? And that figure gets exponentially higher (to the point of non-existence) if you're a producer who actually wants to resell the footage publicly. Obviously, those kind of numbers mean any producer would have to be OK with losing piles of money making said video. Not even considering that the market for female models over 70 is super small, huge celebrity or not.
Not to belabor the point, but this feels like something Lenny would've done in the '90s. Back then, he almost got Linda Blair to do a pie video, mostly because: 1) Linda's career was at a low ebb, and pre-Internet D-list celebs didn't have many monetary options 2) Even top-level porn models could be booked relatively cheaply, like for under $1000/day, so giving Linda $3K would've been a "huge" amount back then 3) No one considered the idea that the fetish WAM video they made in 1995 would still exist online almost 30 years later
And even in the '90s, Cassandra P had enough of a high profile to where she wouldn't seriously consider doing WAM. Now, of course, it would be out of the question. I mean, we're in an era where the actor who played Kevin from the Office makes $1M a year just doing Cameo videos. I have models I once shot for $200 a scene now wanting $4K for ANY shoot, much less fetish, because they have 1M followers now. Cassandra has 40+ years of celebrity and unlimited options for monetizing said celebrity status. I don't think shooting messy videos for a tiny fetish audience is on that list of options.
As Spock would say, if memory serves, I believe Elvira took the pie in season 3 episode where they did the movie "The House of the Dead" (episode 18).
The pie was at the end of the broadcast. I remember because they show snippets from the movie they were showing through the episode and the last one they showed after she took the pie was of Bernard Fox, who was in "House of the Dead" from 1978.
I remember seeing it in syndication back when. It's a good scene. Better than just that quick gif.
