He quotes Kevin Spacey (as the real Kaiser Sosay) in 'The Usual Suspects' (spoiler)...but arranges for his avatar and account to be eradicated ('user does not exist') while his final (?) post remains.
I think he has finally retired.
Retiring is like going broke...'a little bit at a time, then all at once' (Ernest Hemingway).
Speaking of Nine Days... "This is the story of a guy Who told some jokes and threw a bunch of pies And though he had his fun with awful puns He's absolutely Wammaaaaaa Lama Pie."
God speed good sir, and you owe me an email very soon.
I totally misunderstood the message, thought someone else had left and was trying to work out who, never thought it was Robby himself. I never was any good at riddles.
This post should have been left up on the Messy forum. Robby is a legend. The first purchase from a producer I ever made was the Wamma Lamma Pie Ivy video on VHS. I never visit the Non-Wam forum and would have missed this if I had not seen it earlier on the Messy forum. He deserves a more vigorous goodbye. Hope all is well with Robby.

On the other hand though, Non-WAM moves much more slowly than Messy so this thread should remain higher up here for longer.
I wonder if there should be some kind of memorial page for fondly remembered but gone (whether retired or deceased) producers, as a more permanent thing? I had no idea Robby was even thinking of retiring, he'd been here forever, WLP had one hell of a pedigree.
Hopefully people do come across this post eventually. Like many others, I never visit the non-WAM forum and only saw the post because it was in the Messy area for a couple hours.
I talked to Robby and it's nothing serious. Just time. Or to quote him: "Feel free to tell the UMD that you spoke with me and that since I'm now likely moving to Costa Rica, I don't think the climate is conducive for WAMming..."
One of my favorite producers who I used to look forward to updates from the most back in the 1990s. Now there are only two left. This year was already off to a poor start for me and it looks like we're just continuing that trend.
Damn. I was curious to see what would become of that gal he claimed to have met at a wedding or social function who seemed very interested in getting pied in the face. I wondered if it would actually happen or if it was even true. But I think he will return at some point, he seemed somewhat addicted to wam, it's not like he can shut it off like a light fixture.
Wamma Lama Pie was one of my favorite productions with the quality of work being amazing from top to bottom. The women played great roles and always looked fantastic.
I loved reading the behind the scenes details from Robby too. He's been one of the most entertaining people on the umd. I'm not here as often as I used to be but will certainly miss seeing his posts and wish him well.
