Recently a poll was posted asking opinions on whether or not my boyfriend (polishph06) and I should open a download store. We received a lot of yes replies which was a really good thing. Both of us still really want to make his happen but budget and time restrictions have left unable to post anything yet.
A big setback in my opinion is we currently have no good means to edit our videos. We have many videos which are typically long in duration. We start recording a session and usually don't stop the camera until it is over. Another aspect is some videos have not so good angles or down time between mess play. Or even us laughing or things going wrong or being dropped. Thses types of things a have been stopping me from wanting to upload anything to a store.
To wrap up this post I will get to the point. I'm looking for opinions on your preference of video quality. Would you purchase/enjoy watching an uncut amateur video or would you prefer it to be cut neatly together so it just showcases the main messy parts of the video?
I've received a few messages regarding this topic before but I'm trying it out in the forum to get a larger opinion if I can. Again I have a lof of content just sitting around but I do not have the means to edit them the way I want to currently.

This could be an issue with uploading to the site too as there are size restrictions for files. What is the general length and size of what you guys film?
I like to think that context is everything. Since you guys are enthusiastic amateurs kind enough to share a part of yourselves with the community, I hope I'm not alone in saying that it wouldn't matter about the quality, the editing, etc. I'm just thrilled that you choose to share it with us.

30 min is usually the max amount of time. However with my phone I am able to cut them into parts/shorten them..So I could upload parts of videos but they would be unedited other than that.
Generally speaking, raw video is WAY too large to be uploading anywhere. As mentioned earlier, it can run up against size limits on some store systems and you have to remember that most of the world isn't enjoying Gigabit Ethernet internet connections. The majority are fumbling along with unstable service from a crappy cable company like Comcast and simply won't be able to hold a connection open long enough to download something that is several gigabytes in size.
Even if you can't edit them, you really need to run them thru a compressor like Handbrake to create a manageable file size.
I think that for most people it really doesn't matter if there is content. Also, there is a program that is called HandBrake on the computer. It is a completely free program that allows you to compress the video (which doesn't effect the quality at all) so it would be faster to upload. There are probably tons of other app on the IOS and Andriod App stores that can do the something similar. I hope this helped and hopefully you can push out some videos soon!
I think a lot of people would definitely love to see content from you guys, edited or not, myself included. I personally have a preference for edited videos, as they tend to feel a little more polished and cohesive, but when it comes to the right kind of content, uncut video is fine.
As for the issue of time and budgetary restrictions making editing a challenge, I can definitely understand. It might be worth it to team up with someone with some editing experience, so you don't have to worry about that side of things. I've personally edited some videos of my own for my personal collection and I think it'd be fun to give back to the community and help people with the editing side of things, if you guys are open to collaborating.
I voted for "edited" ... while everyone (all your fans) wants more from you guys and if this means "unedited" then everyone will want "unedited" (whatever you put out) ... there are genuine pleasures associated with material that shows everything (including the "off moments") ... but I feel that you guys will ultimately want to produce something that is "more polished" (to use this term) ... just saying ... cheers!

My ultimate goal for a store is to put out edited and well put together videos. But at this moment in my life I am having difficulty getting them to be like that. I'm torn between waiting until I can put out "good" videos or upload the ones I have now as they are.
I appreciate everyone's input so far. No matter what I still love getting messy and sharing it on here. My boyfriend and I will most definitely continue to have fun and share whatever we can.

I think an easy way to work around that is to break the raw video up into parts like messygirl used to and some producers do. If it came down to it we can just cut the raw footage and do clip sets. Personally if I got more time I'd love to do both,do some edits for those who just want to see the mess, and do the unedited cuts for the people who like the foreplay between ztd and I. Maybe we'll go the semi slapstickstuff route release scenes or parts then do compilation videos... Who knows what the future holds but we appreciate your input and see the community is about 50/50 so I will try my best to make sure both can happen!
Look at some of the "professionals" earlier work. Rich (SStuff) has unedited stuff. Leon originally shot out of his flat in the bathroom tub. Maria (MyPierogative), Ariel, Jayce, etc all have similar things. Plus there are a lot of people here who share stuff for fun like you have been.
In the end it's all subjective, and you do what you want to do. But don't let unedited content dissuade you from releasing some of it.
Hi. To produce a clip that sells for money takes a lot of effort (it can of course be fun too in the making of it ) However generally speaking it has to be cleverly edited and of course full high definition quality if you want people to buy it, the other clever bit is knowing what to film in the first place. Hope this helps.
However a point has already been raised, and there is another one too.
1. File size. If there is a lot of dead time, nobody in front of the camera, etc. it's a lot of video time with large gaps where nothing is happening. However, if things ARE happening, even if they aren't 'professional' transitions, etc., then it would still be fun to watch.
I downloaded a 'professional' video once (and I won't name the producer) where the scene was shot at an outdoor pool. The camera was on a tripod. There was a LONG period of time where the two girls were off-camera, I mean a LONG time, where you could hear their voices but had no idea what was going on. This leads to an unnecessarily long video with wasted time.
2. There is a sort of unspoken rule that the price of a video is loosely based upon it's length. Once again, lots of dead time adding to a price is not a good thing, but if it were longer than necessary, but not priced too high, that could be overlooked.
3. The bandwidth and download time issue. As mentioned, not everyone has high speed and high bandwidth with which to download. (try saying that five times fast! LOL)
So from an artistic perspective, unedited would be fine with me, but from a practical point of view, perhaps not such a good idea.
I voted for edited, simply because you want to provide a focus on your work. Like many have stated, sometimes the down time or moments in the video where nobody is on screen or performing can create unnecessary bloating of your file sizes. Even if you edited them slightly just to remove the dead zones would be beneficial. I realize you don't have an editing program at the moment, but there's plenty of free options (or even really good cheap options). A really good free program that I used to use is called Go Pro Studio. It was originally intended for Go Pro footage, but you can edit any footage within it. Its a very basic program, and it crashes sometimes (so save often), but its better than nothing and its a good way to start editing. Windows Movie Maker and the Mac equivalent are also good starting places for editing. Just some suggestions! Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Also, if you have a wee bit of money and want a really good editing program for cheap-ish, go for Pinnacle Studios 22 Ultimate which is like $80. Its badass and I've loved their editing program since I got on board with their 12th edition.
One more thing, the go pro studio isn't supported anymore through the main website, but here's a link to where you can still find the download!

It's been mentioned already, but Handbrake is a great way to convert the video to a more manageable size.
I've also dabbled with a free program called Shotcut, if you're interested in editting the videos down a bit. It's not quite as fully formed as some of the professional studios, but it's a much more comfortable price!
I tried a free version of Shotcut but my computer had a hard time running it. Either that or the program just didn't want to work. It crashed multiple times. I'm thinking it's my computer though as it was built 7 years ago. It can hardly run Skyrim anymore.

Skyrim is about the worst program to use as a benchmark for anything. I don't know of a game with more bugs and CTDs
I'm definitely down with Z doin some Elder Scrolls cosplay WAM though.

I mention skyrim because of how old it is and my poor pc just drops it. Should I cosplay as the Night Mother? ;]
Editing is very simple and encoding is just following through some options. Windows Movie Maker is not on Windows 10, but there are editing tools. Just look for an online tutorial. If you use a Mac, then iMovie is very good and already installed.
Or, ask someone on here you can trust and upload the video to them.
Seriously, it's 2019. Editing a video and putting it on the internet is not rocket science or expensive anymore.

Nah not rocket science however trite that sounds.. but when I have never done it, run on an old pc, have a small child and another variety of personal real life priorities, editing multiple wam videos (which already take a lot of effort to make on its own) isn't that simple for me.
We all have personal lives, problems, issues, and priorities. If your goal is to release edited videos, which I would recommend, then you're going to have to figure it out or wait until you can move it up the priorities list. It'll only be hard the first couple of times you do it. Once you figure it out it's a piece of cake to do the basics and just takes a little time.
You skipped over the "ask someone on here you can trust and upload the video to them" with your umbrage. This is a good community and someone with the basic knowledge will probably enjoy doing it for you.

I made this forum post as a way to get opinions from the people who want to see my content asap. I've been asked by numerous people when I am uploading videos and such and all I want to do is put out a good video. I believe I said in my original post that my goal is to make and edit nice looking videos but at this current point in my life I'm having difficulties doing so.
I don't do this for a living. Myself and my boyfriend are just ametur people having fun and sharing on a site that enjoys and accepts the things we do.
As far as letting someone on this site that I trust help me.. I've been on here for 5 months now. Putting myself out there and uploading content pretty frequently. I have only just started having the courage to talk publically and post on forums so I can't say I'm willing to just hand over a video to someone and see what happens. I'm trying my best to continue doing what I enjoy while also now trying to give back to the community who has been so encouraging to me.

Ztd, more power to you! You say you're trying to give back to our community, yet you've already generously given us so much -- and all free of charge. You obviously have a lot going on that makes it difficult to rush your videos to market, so please take this at your own pace and ignore anyone and everyone who wants to push you into doing things you don't feel comfortable doing. It would be a tragedy if the impatience of some UMD members for you to get your store together spoiled the fun of doing this in the first place. I am 100% positive that your WAM material is definitely going to be worth waiting for!

Underrated comment right here... Noise I get what you're saying but it's a time and technical issue for us currently. I think something got lost in translation but no need to be harsh on us we are just amateurs as z stated. Always respected your work and opinion just think we touched off on the wrong things here. And piero, appreciate the support man you hit the nail on the head we just want to give back or at least have a store set up and be happy with what we release not just post random messy sessions... When we post clips you see the intimate personal side of the kink between us which most models can't provide, so that's why we want to make sure we aren't releasing some cruddy footage or bad edits...everyone who has been patient we appreciate it so much as well as everyone's input
... so I can't say I'm willing to just hand over a video to someone and see what happens...
I understand what you are saying, but consider the logic. You're talking about selling those same videos you don't want to hand over to someone to anyone that wants to buy them.
I'm not trying to be harsh, I'm taking the time to comment because I give a shit. I'm not joking or being flippant about how easy it is to edit and get a video on the download store. It looks intimidating, but it really isn't hard to do the basics, and you guys only need to do the basics because the content is something most can't do - it'll speak for itself.
I'll do it in bullet points and address concerns and make suggestions:
1. Editing the videos to take out dead space and time will give people a better product, and they'll be more inclined to buy more. That money should compensate you for time and effort and pay for your fun.
2. Life is busy and full of problems. You don't have to rush. It sounds like all you need is a better computer. You don't need something crazy. Figure out where on your list that needs to go as a priority, and be patient.
3. If you don't want to do it yourself, someone will likely happily do it for you. There is an element of trust there, maybe ask one of the store owners who they would consider, or a producer you trust. Maybe a producer would do it for a percentage of the sales or something.
I'm not being harsh, or trying to be. I have an attitude to life where I go in and figure out what I need to do to be able to do the thing I want to do using what I have access to. It's how I learned to do this, and believe me, it's easier now than it has been.
Take that as encouragement. A couple like you two putting out material will benefit the community, and it sounds like you both know what you want together.
