On a recent podcast called 'Out to Lunch' with Jay Rayner, Dita Von Teese talks about how liberating a pie in the face is and how she'd happily do it again. It's worth a listen.
There was a video a few years ago of her as a ballerina being pied. Very quick and low quality, apparently it was a custom...can you imagine the cost of it!
I always wondered if someone in our community commissioned her to do that and how much it would have cost to hire such a high end model for a pie scene.

The whole interview is fairly interesting to listen to, but if you want to skip to the pie in the face part, skip to around the 16 min marker. She talks about a 5k custom video she did, and around the 19 min mark she talks about her divorce and pie throwing. The whole thing is a good listen lol
Thanks for the tips on these podcasts. Dita is a gorgeous woman with an obviously good sense of humor. These happened a long time ago (the ballerina video in the early aughts, the pie party in 2007) and I've read a number of interviews over the years where she's talked about both of them, always with great enthusiasm -- in one she said getting pied in the face is the most fun you can possibly have with your clothes on. But I've never heard as much detail about the custom video as in these podcasts. A little disappointed to hear she was wearing a hair net, but heartened to hear that she's a major stickler for elaborate and edible pies, preferably banana and coconut cream, which happen to be the quintessential in-yer-face flavors in my book.
