I hope you don't mind me posting in here, but I'm doing some research for a BAFTA winning UK independent television production company. We are in pre-production of a documentary for channel 4 in which Psychotherapist Philippa Perry will explore the UKs most popular alternative sexual preferences and practices. Philippa does not believe in the distinctions normal and abnormal and is interested in the psychosexual roots of sexual preference. This is what she will be exploring minus any labels or judgements.
Philippa would like to meet people who are willing to talk about their desires. I have come across the WAM community and would love to find out more. If anyone is willing to have an off the record chat to me about WAM, would you mind messaging me? At this stage all I am interested in is finding out more about the community and its members, there is no question of filming or even a face to face meeting. Just a chat.
Thank you so much for taking time to read and consider this.
Thanks everyone for you interest. I totally understand your scepticism, however, please be assured this is a real production that has been commissioned by Channel 4. If you would like more details, or would like to chat about taking part, please do message me and I can explain in more detail what it will entail. I hope Channel 4 have got back and reassured you that this isn't a scam!
Also, in regards to 123gunge's post- I believe that was us on fetlife, but unfortunately we get blocked a lot due to people thinking we are scamming the community- So that might be why we have disappeared! And yes, everything Philippa Perry has done on television before was made by us, as was everything made about Grayson Perry. I hope that gives some clarity!

The reason people get skeptical is because most of the time the fetish just gets treated as a joke, something to poke fun at. Also quite a few of us that make videos have dealt with production companies that have either wasted time, or done just that.
I've dealt with several, and frankly each one has been a waste of time - all the right words but ultimately wanting some cheap late night filler or drive by "look at these people!" junk.
I don't mind speaking to and helping people that are going to look at it properly, but only one production company I dealt with were... and then they had the project trashed.
I left the UK a few years back, so I have no idea who the Perry's are, so skepticism could be unwarranted of course.
Thought id throw my hat into the ring ( is that the expression?)
Im always a bit curious at television shows who want to do documentaries on fetish. I say curious in positive way of course, but a tv show wont help 'promote' a fetish ( especially sexual ones ) as its still seen as a taboo subject in mainstream society. If people wake up one day and suddenly have a fetish, they'll more than likely check it out on the internet and research it on there. I have to agree with 'noise' as tv shows will only ever, even if its non intentional, highlight the oddness or silliness of a fetish to an audience who probably don't understand what its about.
Im a huge fan of Grayson perry, i think he's incredibly interesting, but i learned that through books, art exhibitions and the internet/countless video interviews on him. Most of the people i know, when asked if they know who Grayson perry is, respond with 'oh is he that weird tranny guy who does the art, yeah i saw a show on him late one tuesday night. Fairplay he's a freak isn't he'. ( said in my best west country accent ).
So its nice to hear tv company's are still interested in talking about some taboo areas, but i think deep down quite a lot of us like the fact its taboo. Makes it a bit sexy and a but more interesting!!!!
I like watching fetish documentaries myself, especially when not done in a light that makes the subjects look like perverted freaks but in an open minded "it is what it is" kinda way. If done responsibly it's really up to the audiences personality how the final product is taken. Some people will just look at everything from a judgmental asshole point of view because that's just what they are... Judgmental assholes. More importantly the open minded people will simply learn something new and maybe try it out or at least not think "freaks" if they ever pass anyone with the fetish in real life. That's my 2 cents yall. Ha! SPLAT!!
After the recent documentary on 'dogging' and the reality show 'married at first sight' we can guess what to expect from Ch4 - nothing but exploitation and a piss-take that makes the participants look like idiots. Shame, 'cos I wouldn't mind watching a serious programme on the psychology of sploshing.
