What's the best way to build a gunge tank into a pre-existing shower? Got a small shower I'm hoping I can somehow make into a small tank. Preferably with a way to remove it and store for a bit until it's used again. Anyone got any advice?
The most important thing is safety. A tank full of gunge is easily heavy enough to kill someone if it falls on their head - it could break their neck. So in building any gunge tank, always consider the strength needed to carry the load, and always test the first time without anyone in it, just to be on the safe side.
I have thought about this myself, but I have no experience. Maybe people could help if you share more info about your shower? Would a small tank hold like a 5 liter jug? Or a 15 liter bucket?
My thought, and I have absolutely no experience, is that a single lag screw hook rated for 50 kg in a stud could hold up a 5 liter jug of gunge with a rope. The jug with the handle on the top, drilled a hole in the bottom, and a release mechanism. It would be safe to have 2 hooks. The rope would need to be tied well. You could have a few jugs ready to go. It seems safer to have 4 on the ground and 1 above your head rather than a 25 liter container above your head. Personally I wouldn't hang anything more that 5 liters above my head with something like that. Also, you can probably hang a wireframe basket from it with shower items to make it look inconspicuous.

This is all so helpful. A lot to unpack. And tbh, I still need to move into my new apartment later this year to know the exact situation, but we'll see. This is all a great place to start. Cheers to you for compiling all this!
