I read an article today how Erica Stoll, who is the wife of golfer Rory McElroy, was harassed while watching her husband play in the Ryder Cup. The article also mentioned that misogynistic behavior is on the rise, which isn't a surprise given the current political climate. First, even though I probably don't need to say it, be careful, ladies, both in UMD and in general. I'm sorry that there are too many men out there who don't show women/people the proper respect. but that is currently the way it is. Second, I would hope (and do believe) that there are many men out there who, like myself, are infuriated by how society is tolerating what should be intolerable. Third, although my ability to do so is quite limited, I nevertheless offer to give what help I can to anyone (male or female) who needs it. Fourth, guys, don't be complacent when you see or hear of misogynistic behavior. Make your voice count towards bringing respectful behavior back to our culture.
Yes, 100% be careful!!! When you are harassed, unfortunately I can't feel comfortable saying if any more. Make sure to say something. Tell the owner of the site you are harassed on if it is online. If it is in real life, make a scene. Make sure to scream and holler fight back any and every way you can.
Men, when women say something or need help do something. When people say things like all men X, or Y, don't get caught up in the semantics of things. If something is true for a majority then the term all is acceptable. When you are harassed, because it does happen, say something. Speak up and fight back.
If you need help, get someone's attention and behind your back open and close your hand. Make sure that you get someone's attention and get help.
If you see someone do this, if someone tries to get your attention this way, do something!
I used to laugh at this scene thinking how absurd it is, but then talking to female friends, coworkers, etc. it really is scary authentic! I remember watching CSI, Gil Grissom said "if enough people knew what was out there hunting them, they'd never leave their house"

Think everybody should know this sign and thought the video would clarify (for both victims and people passing by). Maybe they are not able to help due to circumstances, but help is provided in some way and the sign not ignored for not knowing the meaning.
Saw it coming by on LinkedIn and this thread reminded me of it.
