Let's say someone fought the law and the law won, and now she's sporting an ankle bracelet for the next two years. If someone in this situation doesn't want to give up WAM entirely, does anyone have any experience with a similar situation or is this officially the weirdest question ever asked about WAMming technicalities? (BTW, it was a crime of stupidity and a non-violent one.)

Submerging the bracelet is strictly forbidden, so that rules out any submersion like a dunk tank. No fabric and no substance can come between the bracelet and the skin, aside from plain water from a shower (no bath.)

If the scofflaw wanted to make an occasional silly WAM video to make house arrest less boring, but didn't want to balance on one leg like a stork or stick one foot out on a chair because that's not too appealing, has anyone ever tried WAMming with a cast protector over either a bracelet or an actual cast, and did it actually keep out 100 percent of the water/mess?
The bracelet costs as much as a decent used car so this is important.

Maybe a plastic bag and duck tape to seal it around a shaved part of your leg to create an air bag for it? That's what I did with a broken arm, but I'm not sure how sensitive one of those is.

I don't envy them their phone bill... generally you get charged $5-$25 a day for using them, possibly more if they are the GPS type. A lot of them require a landline too...

Instead of duct tape (ouch!), I was thinking maybe using rubber bands to seal the bag on both ends? I would think if they are wrapped tightly enough, they could seal out liquid while not cutting off circulation too badly at the same time....

The thing costs $8 a day, based on income. As I understand the bracelets are rented from and monitored by an outside company so it wouldn't be fair to make taxpayers eat the cost. At least I already have a landline. It could be worse...

Just another bullshit type of incarceration (except this kind you have to pay your own way). Like if you're on bail for a violent crime, that's one thing. If you fought parking tickets or some shit and lost...no...
