Hey everyone! I've been softly releasing my new video today (you probably know if you follow me on Instagram ). Now that the trailer's up, and the screenshots are taken, I'm proud to share with you "The Splat Factory" starring Andreana! The action begins with a Double Dare-esque cold opening ("On your marks, get set, go!"), and right away Andreana is tasked with popping balloons over her head to find the red flag. Most of the balloons contain cold water, however, and Andreana squeals as she's punished again and again with splashes of cold water! Then a bowl of flour is poured on her, and Andreana grimaces as the unpleasant powder completely covers her hair and face. She finally finds the flag, but only after her long black her is drenched and powdery!

Andreana is upbeat for the next messy challenge, but how long will that last? Showing no mercy, the audience determines that Andreana has to take 8 pies in the face for the next game called Pie-Jinks. She manages to get through it (those Nickelodeon-style, Cool Whip pies really clobbered Andreana good), but the Crowning Glory was just too much for her to handle, and Andreana gets a nice, double dose of that disgusting green slop!

Next is what you've all been waiting for, a trip down The (Mini) Pie Slide! No it's not *the actual* WWYD Pie Slide, but with special FX, you'll see Andreana go face first into an awesome baby pool pie! The FX give way to the raw footage of Andreana playing in the giant pie, completely covered head to toe in the creamy glory

Is this your first time doing flour? Any complaints? I kinda love the look but the models always said it was very THICK and didn't really wash out. Plus the clouds of flour after.... I was surprised something so simple got so messy!

The flour was problematic washing out...thankfully Andreana was cool about it- I thought it was a good look for this scene, but definitely not worth doing again in the future!

The Pie Slide is an ongoing experiment, and I don't usually like figuring things out on the fly like this, although now I have a better grasp on how to pull it off better

I love this girl! Awesome stuff. I wanna see her in a "just deserts" sketch. Keep this up!

You're my hero. This looks amazing! Yea flour by itself when it gets wet is problematic indeed.

Really not a surprise this is terrific. The water stuff was great too. Plain old water is borderline underrated, but can be perfect when used well; goofy game show scenarios are always a plus. As usual, your ambition and attention to detail make for a wonderful combination.

Also, that scene in the first teaser looks particularly excellent...

I won't post pics cuz I don't want to sidetrack, but yeah... Flour is usually not worth the trouble... EXCEPT one scene I did with Toshia ages ago. It was a short bit with a bunch of nursery rhymes, AKA Jack & Jill (water), Mary's little lamb (flour), Simple Simon (pies).... And that flouring was ABSOLUTELY 100% worth it.

But yeah, the other ones... Not as much. And you're a better man than I to even attempt the Pie Slide.

Oatmeal and food coloring gives a very similar appearance without the problems.

Even if it's in mini form, this pie slide looks fantastic! We need to see this thing more and see it evolve and grow! Especially if you can get models who go the extra mile and love it so much they cover themselves head-to-toe like that!

Thanks, guys! I was somewhat hesitant attempting The Pie Slide in this way (I usually don't like it when the seems are showing), but figured there was still interest in seeing me try. And on the plus-plus side, having done it gave me some new insights into how to pull it off better, which I wouldn't have come to without trying it!

My first and biggest lesson was: the blue screen needs to be completely clean before shooting, i.e. The Pie Slide needs to be the first and only thing that's being shot. This should've been obvious for this first attempt, but live and learn I guess Also, it was important to have a clean model for a particular shot using an inclined table- I had to nix this footage because Andreana's slimy body kept slipping off!

As for pool sizes- it was difficult finding the right size pool, everything was either too big or too small for the project. That led me to thinking, instead of a circular pool, I want to try it with a shallow, rectangle pool, in essence making it more of a "Pie Luge" I think that's going to be the direction of my next attempt when I get around to trying again!

What did you do to get these kinds of hits? Looks like just a mountain of coolwhip or whipped cream of some kind, but the coverage is really great when compared to other pies of that kind.

It's really just a lot of Cool Whip on a plastic plate smashed really hard right in her face! I left the Cool Whip out 6 hours before the shoot to bring it to room temperature. To me, that seemed to make a huge difference in the coverage. Each pie is a big 32oz tub, and for the two gimongous pies that she's modeling, I used a tub and half.

Additionally, I had been watching classic Nickelodeon pie clips and was observing how vicious some of the deliveries were. There was this one clip in particular from the Double Dare road show where Robin delivers an incredibly big, incredibly fierce pie hit to some guy. It really got me thinking there's no such thing as too hard when it comes to a plate pie, and that approach carried over to Andreana's shoot. Definitely turned out like nothing I ever expected!
