Ok, first: Sophia was a judge in last season's AGT.
Second: As others have noted, the outfit worn by Sophia (in the pie fight) matches the one she was wearing in the first aired episode of AGT this season.
Third: if you noticed, the new promos for AGT do NOT show the pie fight.
What can we conclude from this?
One, as I noted (and predicted) on two other threads about this topi, the pie fight will not air until the 3rd or 4th episode (if at all). Now, the 3rd episode has aired (no pie fight)...So, it will either occur next week...OR...possibly in one of those 'filler segments' that they do from time to time...so, even later than the 4th episode.
No fashionable woman would ever wear the same dress for two different show tapings -- only in the same taping (as with The Voice). Producers record multiple shows in a single day's taping because it saves time and money (and most folks don't notice or care if the outfits are the same).
So, it's possible that the pie fight will not at all.
My guess is that the pie fight happened during the first taping that aired on the premier episode of this new season (based upon the outfits; the red, sequined dress on Sophia).
In summation: If it airs at all, the pie fight may likely be the last episode before the 'live' show in Vegas (or wherever the shoot it).
Nope and since they are moving onto the live episodes after the Olympics the pessismists were right they decided NOT tos how it at all so those little clips are all we get

I'm starting to feel you're right on this. AGT previewed the pie fight before the season aired. Since it's aired not a single pie fight preview. We're also wrapping this up before the quarter finals and I have yet to see the karate team that was in the pie scene.
This leads me to believe no pie fight will be shown, but I'd love to be wrong.
It's just a thought - when we get to the live shows and specifically the results shows of these, there are often pre-filmed sketches/games/quizzes/pranks with the judges inserted in as time fillers so it's possible there is still hope and this could be shown there. Of course this might just be wishful thinking of my part - I was fully expecting it in the auditions (or less likely judge cuts) That being said none of the photos we have seen so far don't seem to show anyone auditioning I don't think so I don't really know what the set-up to all this is.
Edit - I've just reread the above about the Karate team so I'm more confused now!
Uh-oh. I think the pre-taped episodes are over now and the upcoming stuff is the live shows. It hasn't aired yet, right? I can't believe they would cut that out completely. As time goes on, it seems less and less likely that they'll use the footage. I hope I'm wrong.
