Does anyone here remember an old 80's diet pill commercial where two women were sitting in a diner, one had a big bowl of ice cream, and the other kept trying to eat the ice cream from the spoon? Then she does a massive face plant into the ice cream. If anyone has any info on that commercial or knows where to find it, that would be great.

It was for a product called Acutrim. I have searched for the commercial on Youtube and there seems to be every Acutrim commercial from that period (late 80s) other than that one. It was on one of Hurley's clip tapes -- 13 I think.

It definitely IS on a Hurley tape (not sure which one)... But I remember this mostly for being the height of frustration as a kid.
Excellent face plant into the ice cream and clearly there SHOULD have been some coverage. But with the tight editing and no Internet to show "behind the scenes" footage, you see none of it.

I guess it's a great clip if you wanna use your imagination, but it's like a pie hit that cuts away before the tin falls off... Frustrating.

Nah, he closed up shop over a decade ago.
But folks have basically uploaded clips from his tapes ad nauseum on YouTube. It's not like he owned them or anything, so it doesn't matter... I'm just always amused when a "new" clip surfaces and everyone goes nuts, and I think, "Yeah, I saw that in 1990-something on a Hurley tape."

Not to badmouth YouTube per se... Once in a while a truly LOST clip does surface. (The Starland Vocal Band pieing and a few others come to mind.) But a lot of the new uploads are just posters taking the same old clips and reuploading to... Take credit, I guess?

I just went ahead and included the clips after it, they were all vintage (Electric Company) and pretty hard to find now.
Also, whoever recorded this really should've eased up on the "PAUSE" button mid-recording....

Well, ya' know, when you just gotta rub one out...

So frustrating. The mechanical clown scene was a Holy Grail of sorts for me when I first discovered (in the early 1990s) that I was not the only one with this fetish. It was the first thing I looked for on the WAMTEC database/ HC cliptapes back in the mid-1990s. A tad disappointed when I finally got the scene and it was chopped up -- part of the appeal for me was the set up and delivery, which is destroyed with the editing (not that I blame people back on those VCR days who had to make tapes of WAM scenes off OTA broadcasts).
I STILL want to see the complete scene -- with that and the Oops! scene from Electric Company, I would feel like the major scenes from my youth had been captured again.
On another note, have you ever thought of doing your own version of the mechanical clown and/or Oops scene Rich?

Negative. Life's just been rough. Been recovering from some major health issues recently.

The only two I've found are the "You" one where she pies herself (great but super short, and I'm not sure if I have it on anything but VHS) and of course "Cream Pie Maniac," the basis for approximately 12% of all SlapstickStuff skits.

I'll try to post the latter soon. It's got "negative" elements (Rita wears glasses and what looks like a wig) but also great elements too... specifically, her actual fall AFTER being pied, and never wiping off (that's why the glasses were probably needed), and then getting pied a SECOND time. Of all the pie scenes I saw as a kid, that one (and "IF" from my clip, cruelly cut down) stuck with me the most.

Also, like everyone else, I keep waiting for the unedited "Oops" skit to surface. Supposedly Rita got pied at the end of that but I only saw the cut version as a kid.
