Eight super-cute Japanese university students (all girls) have a "rock, scissors, paper, look over there!" tournament. It's a single-elimination ladder tournament with each match determined by the best of three battles. The winner of each battle hits the loser with a shaving cream pie in her face, and the first to win two battles advances to the next match.

Everything is unscripted and undecided--a true competition. Although the girls knew they were being filmed and why, I didn't try to direct them--we wanted to capture a true competition. So we had three cameras: two handheld, each pointed at one of the girls, and one wide-angle on a tripod to capture both girls. We did our best to get all of the pie action, and while there aren't the kind of slow pans and long close-ups we have in most of our videos, we captured a kind of magic that doesn't exist in most videos either.

For example, our tall, sexy friend Jessica was really nervous about getting pied and she got really hyper and competitive, but I didn't try to direct her or calm her down, so we got to see something almost like a wrestling match at times!

Also, Sailor Yuko came along as a friend of Jessica's because she thought it might be a fun party, and she gives off this intense "what the hell am I doing here?!" vibe as she gets annihilated. But then she ended up accepting my offer to do more shoots (I had to ask her because she's so damn cute!), leading to a long relationship and five other amazing videos--even one shoot with the sexy Maki who makes it to the final round here. If you like shaving cream pies, this video is recommended. And if you like unscripted action with multiple young girls, it's a must-see.

A note to our foot loving friends: there are no foot close-ups, but you'll notice that all eight girls were happy to do the tournament barefoot for us.
