There's so much hay strewn about here, it's as if there's a farm nearby. Is it safe to walk here? Lucy decides to check it out. She steps in and discovers the ground is soft underfoot. It's also yellow, wet, and muddy, and with every step it gets softer and deeper. Lucy finds herself waist-deep in mud, then chest-deep, then shoulder-deep. She flounders, sinking deeper and deeper into the yellow clayey quicksand. This continues until she's completely submerged.
