Melena is a simple rural girl who loves nature. While doing housework, she periodically goes to the river to rinse or wash clothes there. Just now, Melena came here and started washing, when suddenly her wet dress slipped out of her hands and began to float down this river. She tried to reach for her dress, but the current carried it away too quickly. In order not to lose this valuable thing, Melena went in search of her lost dress. At some point along the way, the river became shallow and turned into a swamp, and the dress is still nowhere to be seen. Melena continued her search, but she had gone too far into a dangerous quagmire. One careless step and she was already waist-deep in a soft and watery peat bog. Melena flounders and struggles in this mud, trying to get out, but to no avail. Her body sinks deeper and deeper, and brown quicksand is already surrounding her head. Having exhausted herself, she dives and emerges several times, gasping for air, until she finally gives up and hides under the surface of the bog.
