Elana Bohemia, dressed as an explorer--khaki dress, helmut and sneakers--who searches for rare medicinal plants and animals, is checking out a new location. She accidentally steps into quicksand. She sinks quickly up to her waist, and then slowly goes down from there. Despite her struggles, she ends up shoulder deep in the mire before she can free her hands and find a root. Encouraged by this, she slowly extricates herself from the thick, deep mud. You see her body, from the shoulders down, covered in the dark, thick mud. She ends up crawling out of the bog.
