Dan and Emily had started as bitter rivals at college before becoming boyfriend and girlfriend. Of course, that glossed over all the humiliations that Dan had suffered, usually thanks to Emily. It had all started when they'd teamed up on a gameshow called Messy Anguish and Emily had outsmarted Dan, which had resulted in him getting pied and gunged on air.

Since then, Dan had suffered many more messy ordeals at Emily's hands although they had been relatively private affairs. However, recently they had received an invite through the post to attend a special anniversary edition of the gameshow and Dan just knew he'd end up getting messy in public again. Of course, Emily had immediately accepted the invitation on behalf of both of them.

As the day of the anniversary show arrived, Dan began to get nervous and wanted to call the whole thing off, but Emily would have none of it. They got an Uber to the studio and were greeted by an anonymous assistant studio manager. Dan had unconsciously been expecting to be met with either the host Julia or her sexy assistant Gwen so wasn't sure whether to be relieved or disappointed.

The unnamed assistant then proceeded to give them a tour of the studio. It seemed much less intimidating to Dan when he wasn't upon the stage covered in gunge with a packed audience cheering and laughing at him. But simply being there brought back memories which sent a shiver down his spine.

As well as the main studio they also got to see the backstage areas, some of which they'd experienced on their visit whilst others like the production control room were unfamiliar. They also picked up on some interesting gossip, that it's two stars were not the great friends they purported to be. Then with the tour over they were escorted to front row seats to see a show being filmed.

"Wishing you were up there again?" Emily asked Dan.

Before Dan could respond, Julia bounded on to the stage to thunder applause from the audience. See introduced herself and the teams playing, the first consisting of a pair of brothers and the second two sisters. It was then time for Gwen to make her appearance, she took a member of each team and secured them to chairs in the centre of the stage.

What followed was more brutal than Dan recalled as both bound players suffered messy forfeits courtesy of Gwen when their teammate got a question wrong. For round two the contestants swapped places with similar results. In the end the sisters won and got to gunge the boys. Then as the show appeared to be ending Julia suddenly returned to the stage to announce that they had some previous contestants in the audience.

"Perhaps they'd like to come up on stage?" Gwen suggested.

Dan had dreaded this happening, but Emily just grinned as the spotlight found them. With everyone around them cheering, Emily got up and pulled Dan from his seat. She led him down the aisle although instead of heading directly to the stage she directed him towards a side door which he knew went to the changing rooms.

As the show resumed Dan found himself dressed in shorts and a branded t-shirt, strapped to a chair in the centre of the stage. Emily was similarly dressed but luckily for her she was standing behind a podium with the host and well away from any potential mess.

Julia explained she would be asking Emily a series of four questions and for each one she got wrong Dan would suffer a forfeit. And as if by magic, as soon as she mentioned forfeits, Gwen wheeled on a trolley laden with five cream pies on the top shelf and two buckets containing messy substances on the lower shelf. Julia started by asking a simple question which Emily promptly answered, wrongly.

"That's incorrect, so you know what that means!" Julia exclaimed.

Gwen picked up one of the cream pies from off the trolley and stepped up to Dan. She held the pie out as if offering it to him but obviously with his hands bound, he couldn't take it, not that anyone believed Gwen was going to do anything with the pie that hit him with it. So, after teasing him for another second or two, she did just that.

She thrust the pie squarely in Dan's face much to the evident delight of the studio audience, Julia and of course Emily. Dan shook his head in an attempt to dislodge the pie filling stuck to it whilst Julia asked Emily a second question. Once again it was a fairly simple question and once again Emily deliberately got it wrong.

"Your girlfriend really wants you do suffer, doesn't she?" Gwen stated.

This time Gwen picked up one of the buckets from the lower shelf of the trolley and stepped in front of Dan. She gave it a swing and Dan flinched, but she was only teasing him again. So, he relaxed slightly when she swung the bucket at him a second time, only to be caught unawares when she actually hurled the content all over him this time.

Covered in blue gunge Dan couldn't hear Emily get her next question wrong but did feel it when Gwen sandwiched his head between two pies. She then grabbed the final set of pies and appearing to stumble, dropped one of them into Dan's crotch. The audience laughed as his discomfort and their mirth only increased as moments later Gwen smashed the final pie into his face.

Then as Emily got her fourth and final question wrong Gwen returned to the trolley one final time. She picked up the second bucket, this one filled to the brim with pink coloured gunge. She then walked up behind Dan and lifted the bucket above his head before flipping it upside down and depositing it over his head.

"Poor Dan, and it's not over for him yet" Julia declared.

Gwen removed the bucket from Dan's head and unstrapped him from the chair. She then led him over to another chair at the side of the stage, this one positioned directly under a clear tank full of green gunge. By this point Dan was completely humiliated and didn't think things could get any worse so, did as instructed and sat on the chair.

Meanwhile Julia explained to Emily that as she'd gotten all of her questions wrong then Dan would be suffering the show's ultimate punishment. Emily looked at the tank suspended above her boyfriend and couldn't help but smile mischievously. The two women were joined shortly thereafter by Gwen who carried with her a remote and a pie.

"Surprise!" Gwen announced.

And with that she slapped her pie into Emily's face before handing the remote to Julia. As Emily attempted to claw the pie filling from her face Gwen escorted her over to Dan and sat her down on his lap. The Gwen hastily stepped back as Julia pressed the button on the remote to send the gunge cascading down on the young couple.

After the show Dan and Emily were made to pose with Julia and Gwen for a photoshoot to advertise the anniversary special, and both received another pie to the face for the cameras, before finally getting to make their way back to the changing room. Emily was clearly upset about getting messy, but Dan never thought she'd looked so gorgeous.

As she began to complain, Dan gave her a reassuring hug and quick peck on the cheek. They were both still covered in gunge and pie filling, but Dan didn't care and if anything, it only heightened his love for his girlfriend. So, he kissed her again, this time on the lips and with a lot more passion leaving her in no doubt about his feelings.

"Wow!" Emily exclaimed "Perhaps I should get messy more often."
