(continued from Lauren's Story - Chapter 38...)

Lauren ended up borrowing some workout clothes and a pair of flip-slops from Jessica to drive home in. When she made it back to her apartment she checked her phone and realized she had missed a bunch of messages from David. Sarah finished running the reports just after 2:00 pm. "Great job, Sarah! Let's go home. Got any plans?"
"No, James wanted me to come over to his work to hang out. I'm kind of tired so that's probably what I'll do." Sarah responded. "You going over to David's?"
"Yes, we're supposed to have a date night tonight to celebrate. I've got to go back to my apartment and get ready."

Sarah started talking, "Lauren, we are all very proud of you and are excited to see you take this next step in your career. We loved having you as our manager."
"Most of the time..." Stephanie interjected getting a round of laughter from the group.
"Most of the time and are glad that we will still get to work with you in your new role." Sarah continued. "We all chipped in and got you something we know you'll like."
With that, Jasmine pulled the towel from Lauren's head and Lauren was immediately hit with a big pie in the face. Everything went dark and then she felt more pies hitting her body. Lauren had changed into some jeans and a red sweater as the temperature had cooled off a bit. She walked back into the kitchen and picked up her glass of wine for a drink. David walked next to her and she reached over to give him a kiss. "Thanks for putting this on today. It was a lot of fun."
"Well, Sarah reached out to me and asked if they could surprise you here. It seems like a pretty good plan. Of course, she also suggested the pies."
"I wondered if that was you or her who had that idea."

Lauren had lost track of how much she had drank that evening but she was sure that this had to be at least her third or fourth glass. Thanks goodness for the food that David had made otherwise she would probably be passed out right now. Although she couldn't imagine a better place to pass out.
David stood up and leaned over to kiss Lauren. She reached up and ran her hands over the crotch of his jeans again. "Let's finish the cleanup so we can move onto other things..." David said.
Lauren looked up at him, "I thought we got everything already?"
"I see a couple of beer bottles. Want to help me get them?" He asked.
