This story is written as a blog post from Keiko, a Minor character in the story "My daughter's wedding". despite being released before that series ends, all events in this story will happen afterwards. Some events will be referenced from that story but it is in no way required to understanding this story at all

"Ohaiyooooo Nihoooooooon."

That was all I could think as I finally landed back at Haneda Airport in Tokyo. More than anything I was just happy to be back on land after 12 hours in the sky (Flying in from JFK) and being able to walk a little more than just to and from an airplane bathroom.

Once Landing I had to go through security, baggage claims and the simple slog of waiting in the terminal before I finally got outside and breathed in the fresh air. I loved America, but it was truly great to be back home. I couldn't wait to get back and feel the breeze of the Pacific again, taste the warm broth of soba noodles and see the peak of fuji overlooking everything. In a few days I could soon take a trip down to the island of Okinawa, a place which reminded me of both the USA and Japan. But that would have to wait.

Tomorrow I will be attending the wedding of my dear friend Sayaka.

Most people reading are probably aware of the exploits that occurred at my last wedding. Yes it was a grand time and was certainly more memorable than any I had been to back home. I almost wanted to go to more, but I don't think my mother would have approved very much and besides from what I was told by every other women there no other wedding they had attended had been anything like that by any stretch (The brides mother had stated the messiest she had ever been at a wedding before that was accidentally dropping some chocolate on her dress, well she certainly topped that).

All of my friends back home had also soon heard of my exploits. You see I told them all that I would soon have pictures from my first wedding in America, however as all the muddy fun happened before even the ceremony I wasn't able to hide all that had happened that day as a few muddy bridesmaids snuck through some footage of the ceremony and this brought in a slew of questions. "What happened?" "Are all American Weddings like this?" "Why is everyone so messy?" were the common ones. As for what they all thought of the experience itself, friends were split. Some thought that it looked like a hoot and a great time while others felt it seemed cool for some but would not ever do that at their own wedding. Sayaka was very much in the latter category. Like many girls, she had been dreaming of her wedding day for basically her whole life leading up to the very moment she would be walking down the aisle, and had always had a very specific idea of how she wanted the whole thing to go, from the dress, to the flowers to the music everything was to be planned out perfectly. I was told this rather explicitly after she got wind of the experience I had in America. I was able to reassure her that was a one off incident and she need not worry about me doing any such acts and I meant it. She was my friend since grade 3 of middle school (what would be 9th grade in the USA as highschool in Japan has only three years) when we both had to swim in our uniforms during the first class because we forgot to bring in our gear for class that day (it was the final class that day so no they weren't cruel enough to make us go through the whole day like that), well both of us kind of enjoyed the time and thus began a friendship based on mutual weirdness. Because of this, I was actually somewhat disappointed that she wanted no funny business at her wedding (especially as it was poolside), but her wishes were to be respected.

Today was very relaxing. After arriving back home I was able to spend the rest of the day relaxing. I mostly sat back and watched some anime such as Sailor Moon, played a few of my brother's video games like Tekken (I was able to beat most of my brother's friends, though he claims this is because they all like me), and of course eating. On more than one occasion some farmers had asked me to help out in the muddy rice fields (I live in a small community not far outside Yokohama). I declined promising some other time I could (It was still my vacation after all) and went back home. As the sun went down I started to watch some old Japanese horror movies. I liked many things about America, but sometimes they really needed to leave our cinema alone, don't try fixing what isn't broken they always say. After that, deciding I needed to get my mind set on something else or I would go to sleep scared, I decided to get ready for tomorrow. First I showered, brushed my teeth and laid out tomorrow's outfit it was a cute little green dress that went down to the knees and had a cute bejeweled belt and very pretty necklace. Topping it all off was a white floral hair piece for the wedding itself. It was going to be a great time I could tell, all of our friends were there and doing something important. But that was all going to have to wait til tomorrow, I got my mattress from the shelf, pulled out a blanket and decided to get some shut eye. Tomorrow was going to be a big day and I didn't want to miss any of it.

I have returned from the wedding and I must say that despite what Sayaka set out to do, today's festivities were far from a typical wedding affair by any means (well except compared to Charlotte's, but nothing is topping that.) Now do not get me wrong in the slightest, I absolutely loved every minute of it, but if you were to tell Sayaka that very morning how everything would have ended, she would have not believed you for a second. The whole thing started simply enough, well that isn't exactly true as she had brought out all the stops, photographers, music (by a violinist friend of ours), games, all of the amenities you would imagine to be at something like this. I sat in the aisle on the bride's side and waited for the ceremony to begin. When it did we all sat still and simply watched the bride walk down the aisle. Sayaka's dress was a somewhat typical wedding dress. It was plain white and nothing about the design was particularly unique all things considered. It was floor length and had a short train. She accesorised it further with a diamond Tiara, a necklaces, short dangling earrings white pumps and elbow length opera gloves. Despite what I said earlier, she did look absolutely gorgeous (not that she didn't usually) and her hair and makeup were also done to perfection. Of course she reached the front of the aisle, kissed her groom and now it was time to Party.
Now this is where all the interesting stuff began and to this day some people still believe I did everything on purpose (trust me I didn't have the will power to set this whole thing into motion. It started fairly innocently with me trying to open a bottle of champagne. By the end 11 girls would find themselves in the pool. Basically I was shaking the bottle in an attempt to blow the top off, it worked but there was one thing I must have overlooked which was the direction I was holding the bottle which was forward directly pointed at people rather than away which would have been safe. The cork ended up going in the direction of a girl named Yuki who was dancing with her husband. She was wearing a knee length purple dress. What happened was that her back was to the pool and her boyfriend in a spur of the moment attempt to save her from the flying projectile pushed her out of the way, and straight into the pool claiming its first victim. The cork instead went directly at a different girl named Sakura who was wearing a thin yellow sundress and was trying to take photos of the couples around the place. She dodged but due to her natrual reflexes, she dodged to the right which was where the pool had been causing her to trip into the water as well. In the chaos, deciding her camera had a better chance being thrown than soaking in the water tossed it to the left. She must have hit the picture button however as the next thing I ended up seeing was a flash which had caught an unsuspecting guest named Akiko (wearing a lightish brown floral dress short bead necklace and thick cardigan) off guard and she ended up up turning into a young chef named Junko who was carrying a cooked pig that had been decorated with beads. The beads came loose and both girls found themselves stumbling trying, and ultimately failing to avoid their soaked fates. In an attempt to save the meal, Junko had tossed the pig to the side along with the tray. While they both stuck the landing this came at the price of a girl named Niko who was wearing a long red dress and was at the time carrying a present. The force of the dish being thrown caused her to toss the present and she went falling right at the edge of the pool grasping for anything she could use to regain proper footing. Unfortunately for a pool worker named Hanae (who was wearing an informal woman's pants suit with a purple ascot) the rod of the pool net happened to be what Niko latched onto and rather than saving her she went down only bringing poor Hanae down with her. The falling gift however caught the attention of a fellow worker names Akane (who was wearing an identical outfit just with a different hairstyle and a magenta ascot. ) who deciding to put 110 percent effort into the job jumped off her post to reach the present before it could land in the water (it could have been electronic which would have been bad). She did succeed though and the present remained safe. Of course this luck came at a price as the present hit a third worker named Fumiko (wearing a similar outfit with a purple ascot and had her hair in space buns) who was collecting dishes and putting them on a cart. The gift (well probably not in her eyes) bumped into her causing her to lose control of the cart and herself as she too went flailing forward into the water grave (for her outfit maybe). One girl nearby named Mikasa (wearing a white blouse top and purple knee length skirt) was caught off guard by the cart coming towards her tried moving out of the way but she was clearly not experienced in heels and ended up tripping in them before the water could break her fall. The cart ended up hitting the mascot (for our prefecture, it's a thing here in Japan but is not particularly relevant to this story) who did stop the cart but stumbled backwards into yet another girl named Asuka who was wearing a two layered pink ruffled dress and Asuka ended up stumbling into Sayaka. Both of them ended up in the pool.

I looked at all the carnage that had resulted and then looked at the pool. I was expecting to see some of the girls crying or at least being kind of pouty, but no,all of them, even Sayaka, were laughing and sputtering. Seeing the light hearted moods of all the girls there I decided to make it up to them and join in on the fun by running up and doing a quick cannonball into the pool. Upon getting there I looked at the girls and simply said "Sore wo shimaska?" (indirectly translated as "did I do that?") none of the girls knew what I was talking about but they all laughed and said it was all good. After that all twelve of us decided to stay in the pool for the rest of the reception. All the typical fun and games commenced there such as the bouquet toss (Sakura won that). We tried talking several other girls into joining us but sadly there were no takers. "Their loss" I thought, it was hot out there I could tell while the twelve of us were chilling and having the time of our lives. Towards the end we took one final picture with all of us (Except Niko for some reason) making the peace sign to signify that no harm had been done. I did later try to apoligise to Sayaka for the incident but she said no need and that If anything I had made her wedding truly unforgettable. While I can't say it was the most unique wedding I have ever been to, I can say for certain it was possibly my favorite being able to make my friends laugh and smile even if through pure clumbsiness
