Sarah is an archeologist who has found the long sought after statue of Kona, an island deity. As well as being excited about the accolades she will receive, Sarah also believes that Kona with be a kind and helpful spirit guide for her. So when she encounters a treacherous bog, Kona gives her the confidence to proceed, even as the mire gets deeper and deeper. But Kona is not her friend, as Sarah succumbs to the quicksand.
