Dinah Deville, wearing a one-piece bathing suit, is trying to get to the river for a swim, but there is a lot of mud in her way. Undaunted, she continues on, only to fall into a deeper spot. She's at first annoyed, but when she starts sinking, that soon turns to panic. She struggles wildly, which makes her sink ever deeper. The scene ends with Dinah neck deep in the mire, her final fate unknown.
