Soooo this seems to have come up a bit lately. But, does anyone cosplay and/or what cosplays would you like to see in WAM situations?
I do Fluttershy from My Little Pony and Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy mostly. I think it would be super hot to get pied as either one (although maybe with cheaper wigs/accessories! I don't want to ruin mine).
I've been playing the game Life is Strange lately, and I think it would be awesome to see a messy Max and Chloe!
I'm actually a little embarrassed how much cosplay I've done. But I think some of the tropes like a maid or a schoolgirl character are perfect for getting a pie in the face or slime dropped on them.
I've never done cosplay sadly, so I can't comment on that specifically
But I really admire cosplay talent and messy cosplay is relatively rare, sadly, but awesome when it's done well!
Two instances come to mind: one is MadLoversCosplay, which you can find on YouTube, who have done charity slapstick videos dressed as various DC characters like Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Cat Woman, Wonder Woman, etc. They made some really great videos for donators, including one involving a giant pie the size of a small swimming pool (which was AWESOME! )
The other is MessyMissMarie here on UMD. She's done two cosplay scenes on her UMD store: one dressed as Tifa from Final Fantasy VII, and recently as Ryuko Matoi from Kill la Kill (which is like my favorite anime of all time!)
If you are looking for DC characters to do there are a few I would love to see get what I call splat-in-the-vat. (basically having the character get dropped into a vat or huge tub of gunge.)
1. Tuppence Terror (Young Justice) 2. Big Barda 3. Superwoman (Kristen Wells version.) 4. Bumblebee 5. Batwoman (version from the film Mystery of The Batwoman)
WAM and cosplay are intersecting a little more frequently now, which is awesome! It's also nice to see threads like these and Jayce's pony girl getting some good replies to show there's support for this crossover niche market.
Personally my character which I just recently started cosplaying that I think would be fun to make a slapstick mess with is the new pokemon Popplio. He's basically a clown-seal so I think it would make a fun crossover. I've thought about it a few times but, like you, I don't wanna mess up the hard work I spent on crafting the costume and the wig and etc etc. But it's a lot of fun to think about. Cheesy one liners and pies. Ah yes.
You should totally find a cheap Fluttershy or Rocket costume to mess up! Halloween and costume websites have pretty cheap but decent quality knockoffs. Don't let your wam dreams be dreams! Get it girl!
What I'd like to see (adnd this is quite doubtful, due to the nature of the genre) is wam + lolicon (or harajuku)...the girls (typically teens but many older than this)...are so excessively "dolled up" and "prissy" to the extreme...I doubt that many would be into getting messy (ruining their expensive, ultra-fem clothing)... cant' post the videos here (don't know the ages of the girls), but if you search YT for "the secret life of the Lolita" (there are at least 3 parts/editions; check out part III*), you'll see what I mean...great clothes to get messed up (if that's your thing).
*warning: one of the last scenes in this video is a bizarrely gory bit of wam ("zombie" lolita attacking guy, blood squirting)
I love wam & cosplay! I know the costumes are expensive & most people don't want to get them ruined, but seeing some of the outfits that people have used and gotten messy in is really hot!
I really like the "Lolita" type costumes, as well as "Sailor Moon"!
I've done supergirl, black widow, Hell Girl, Ryoku, harley quinn and then the general costumes like maid outfits etc.
It's hard because I have a lot of messy cosplay ideas but the costumes I want are really expensive and I don't want to lose money when producing scenes.
However I am going to a big cosplay group shoot soon and the money I make from that I intend on putting towards more outfits
Yesssssssss I love those videos from Mad Lovers Cosplay! Harley Quinn is my favorite DC character. I also really like the DC Bombshells, which are a bunch of the female characters in 1940s style!
This is my kind of thread. I would like to see the following cosplays muddy or maybe chocolate...
Lucy from Fairy Tail Asuka from Evangelion Ladybug from Miraculous Ladybug Mitsuba Sangu from Sepraph of the End Sailor Venus from Sailor Moon D.Va From Overwatch
Love WAM cosplay! I've set up some scenes with Leila and she is absolutely fantastic! Can't wait to see the group shoot. Will I get to see more of Harley and Ryoko?
Glad you were able to get the Belle dress Ariel, I remembered we talked about it in the past. Totally can't wait to see the scene! Your Sailor Moon scene was incredible.
I'd like to set up some more custom scenes soon. Just got a new job so if there's any model with some ideas, let me know!
Videos with cosplay or uniform play are pretty much an instabuy for me. Spandex Superheroines and scrubs are my favorite. My dream site would be something like primal's darkside (HIGHLY recommend if you like superheroines) combined with WAM. One day someone will cosplay this and get messy http://68.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mazg7sc7JJ1qzsy70o6_500.jpg I'll have to buy the video like 3 times. Jill Valentine would be another amazing one http://www.allthatsepic.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/jill-valentine-cosplay-3.jpg

I loved your Star Trek Slime and Supergirl videos!
Although I love the enthusiasm for Cosplay Wam, I still say its an impractical endeavor. After all, once these costumes are muddy, sticky, slimy or messy, most of them are damaged beyond repair. Not to mention that some of the costume ideas cost so outrageously high that even the top producers cant afford to do them.
A Complete Lolita Outfit can cost Almost a Thousand Dollars. The Best quality handmade cosplay outfits can start at $500 and be as much as $2000 if you factor in materials and labor.
So if you want to see cosplay wam, may have to settle for those cheap low-quality costumes and halloween store quality wigs. Or choose characters that are well.. cheaper to do cosplays of.

Yeah it's a bit tricky. The lowest price of cosplay costumes typically can run about $100+. Sure, there are cheap costumes you can buy from Hot Topic or whatever for $20, but it's not always easy to know what you're getting when you order online.
Still, there are some popular characters that are definitely affordable. A good Lucy Heartfilia costume/wig can go for about $100. Same with a Hatsune Miku cosplay. Some of these would be really awesome to pull off for a wam session.
But when you find the right outfit, it's totally worth it!

What worries me is producers have to factor in costs of the video and if such video will get more than one download.
I love WAM and I love Cosplay. Seems only natural to put them together.
Cosplay WAM can be expensive, but it doesn't have to be. Granted, I usually wear my costumes in "clean" updates before the messy ones, so that helps spread the cost out a bit.
My Harley Quinn costume probably ended up being between three or four hundred after collecting all of the accessories and separate pieces. Of course that was before the movie came out and I could pick up a half decent complete costume for around 90 bucks.
But my complete Psylocke costume was only around $60. The wig itself was only $20 on Amazon and actually came clean and looked good as new after. The costume would have survived too if I hadn't ripped it in the video.
I guess it really just depends on what you have in mind and how authentic you'd like the costume to be.
Jason_K416 said: Your Psylocke kills me every time. You pull it off so well. Have you ever cosplayed at any cons by chance? I could totally see you doing a Rogue or Ms. Marvel too.
Thank you! I've never been to a con, but I would really like to sometime. They look like so much fun! Rogue was one of my favorites growing up and I love Ms Marvel's costume.
Pattycake, I would really love to be friends with you. In fact, I must confess: I've fallen in love with you, for real! For a lot more than just your body, your charm and your messy fun!
There's also a pretty good market opening up for secondhand cosplay outfits, too, so it might be worth checking out in your local area, or on forums like the one at CosplayDeviants. Depending on the character and the materials used, they can be fairly hard to maintain after a decent session, but a bit of imagination and a stained, ripped cosplay can still get you where you wanna go.

I distinctly remember seeing a fair bit of furry WAM (live shoots, not drawings) a while back outside the forums here, so it's around. Those outfits are hideously expensive, though

Cosplay WAM is something Bambi and I have often discussed doing, as cosplay is something we're into, and it's something we'll probably get around to someday. For now, I'd say cost is a big factor, especially if the outfit was ruined during the shoot. Then again, the outfits we've used in the past have (surprisingly) always been perfectly fine after washing.
As for outfits, I noticed somebody mentioned D.Va from Overwatch - it just so happens that Bambi actually cosplayed her for a Halloween party a couple months back! Think she wears it well? Her and I are also huge into Evangelion, and an Asuka cosplay is likely in the very near future. Not sure if we'd do her school uniform or plugsuit outfits, or whether they'd be the versions from NGE or Rebuild, for that matter.
I've been doing cosplay for many years for conventions and photoshoots, I've done a little WAM with a few of the cosplay outfits, but unfortunately once you figure in time to make, concern over things not cleaning, etc.. I've never wanted to risk it more!

Oooooh I love this! That's awesome!
I know that WAM in cosplay isn't really practical, it's only been in the realm of fantasy for me (so far??). I like to imagine myself as another character getting messy. Deal with that psychologically as you will.
Oh...another character....Chun Li from the Street Fighter video games. I always thought she was awesome because she was totally cute AND had thick thighs (I am so insecure about my thighs hehhh!).
