This probably extends a little into what you enjoy reading but what is a character dynamic that you enjoy writing about in the context of gunge.

At the moment, I'm quite enjoyed revenge attempts that backfire. Building up the context for the revenge, usually giving the POV character a small win only for them to end up failing in a rug pull (by losing a game or vote etc) and leaving them as the one that ends up dunked or covered in mess.

It's not one I can always write about as would ruin the surprise to always happen but I really like getting to do it. It also provides some variety on how deserving the POV woman is for her revenge attempt and use that to set the tone of the story.

But what other dynamics do you most enjoy writing about

Agree that this is a great one! So much potential for heightened emotion.

I think many of my favourites are along the same lines, things that have a power/status dynamic. I might expand on these but a few immediate favourites:

-You think it's over, but it's not over (I possibly do this too much)
-Breaking the rules of the game but just a *little*, like an extra pie just because it's funny
-Not acknowledging the elephant in the room - someone's sat underneath something *very* blatant but...
-The gameshow host themselves being rug-pulled
-Peer pressure - someone being gently but inevitably bullied into a slopping because everyone's cheering
-Being too proud to quit, or not wanting to show weakness (and then you realise you're up to your neck in custard with a dildo in your arse)


My particular obsession is fun dialogue, and all of those are a great opportunity for wisecracks, teasing and devilishness, much like the one you mentioned!

I'd very much agree with all of Daisy's points here, at least half of which I'm already envisioning played out in some future story... Ideally with the custard/dildo, extra pie and the something blatant being combined as e.g. of it not quite being over yet

Related, but I do also have a weakness for both the willing and frustrated stooges angles.

- The protaganist has been told they can mess up/sleep with/etc their beautiful teasing friend, they just have to do a few slightly (spoiler: very) silly and messy challenges first.
- A slightly bratty dynamic of someone greedily trying to win prizes while getting messier and messier with each failed attempt.
- Messy orgasm denial torture always appeals to me. Yes, the cuffed, naked and sexually frustrated stooge in the stocks can have a bit more teasing and fondling... It just might cost them a further round of tickling, pies and gunge buckets first...
- Ridiculous messy and sexual challenges always fun. How many pies or gunge buckets will the player cop before they can finish stripping and wanking themselves off, etc.

What all angles have in common is the aspect of the willing stooge. At some level, however much they're now regretting it (or not?!), all of the protagonists signed up for this, the thought of the mess or perhaps just the risk of it must at some level have been a bit of an alluring tease....

These are all the strengths of the written story. Not just absorbing melodrama (surprise, fear, betrayal, comedy, tragedy, erotica, plot twist) which can all be portrayed in other ways - but the very intimate seduction of the reader through nuance and detail and what they bring with them.

There's got to be a bit of deception, betrayal, coercion and submission, but not just as plot, also in the interests of placing ourselves in one of those roles as the reader.

I write (or wrote!) for WAMmers, but I maintain a little lifeline to the uninitiated in that, however erotic the thoughts and actions of the characters, I will take time to reflect on the ridiculousness of the situation for comic relief.

I rather enjoy writing from the first person POV of the 'victim' in a situation whereby they are initially outraged, intolerant, averse or reluctant and how they are 'overcome' and their fear is transformed into submissive desire and enjoyment. The first person is always popular with the many WAM readers who enjoy walking through those feelings of being humiliated. It also unlocks the character's 'permission' to be treated this way.

It's kind of important for me that there's some 'justice' in cruelty (however misguided) or else it's just an unmitigated account of malicious sadism and humiliation.

I have a playfully sadistic alter-ego but it's so much fantasy in that it's really the opposite of how I really behave.

I'm with Daisy on the power dynamics thing, absolutely. I'm practically obsessed with it. Even when it's not intentional, I usually find some way of sneaking it into my stories subconciously anyway. The obvious version of this is when it's a deliberate sub-dom kind of deal, but even in a gameshow setting I can't help making the host a bit of a dom and some number of contestants a bit passive/submissive.

The other thing that I noticed becoming a theme of mine after a few years of writing it without realising, is shame. My Sameena stories have a huge subtheme of dealing with and overcoming it. I hope they're still sexy and fun, of course, but there's definitely an overaching (mostly by accident) arc of Sam learning to accept that she's a bit of a perv.

Ironically, I typically can't stand the "oh no i hate this, but wait isn't it kind of hot teehee oh i've cum" kind of stories. Does that make me a bit of a hypocrite with Sameena? Maybe it's fine when it takes several installments to get to the acceptance part :p

For me I enjoy the dynamic (as you can probably tell if you read some of my stories) of a hapless guy getting trashed by a women he finds attractive. Sometimes this includes a power dynamic between the pair or revenge for a previous misdeed but most often it occurs due to a simple misunderstanding.

There seems a lot of common ground here. I love the idea of the hapless stooge but also the power dynamic of revenge or simple dominance.

The sense of inevitability is important to me so however a story starts you have a very strong e feeling you know I am going to get it in the end however well my plan starts out!

I love the reversal of roles some times like in my clown stories where it is the pretty girls especially me, who get the mess not the actual clowns.

I was heavily influenced by Slapstickman, so I love a lot of tit-for-tat stuff, especially with comic exaggerated "standing there waiting to be pied so I can pie you back" type stuff. Any chance I have to crowbar a scene like that in there I will grab with both hands, I tend to like to take refuge in absurdity. WAM is silly, it makes me laugh, any girl who can make me laugh turns me on, so a story that makes me laugh is the same.

I enjoy the dynamic of consenting adults indulging in absurd but believable sploshing scenarios reflecting the preparation that would, in real life, be required. Writing in the first perspective also gives opportunity to describe the feelings and sensations of being sploshed.

I suspect I'm a bit of an outlier, but a dynamic I often find myself returning to is where the gunge becomes a liberating experience for the 'victim' (for want of a better word).

It can manifest in different ways, but often comes down to a battle of decorum vs chaos, with characters confronted with absurd situations and initially trying to stay sensible - whether due to nerves, shyness, vanity, competitiveness or whatever - only to eventually surrender to the mayhem and decide to join in the fun, often with another character acting as the catalyst for their change of heart.

I wouldn't call this an outlier. It seems very popular (admittely in this very small niche we inhabit).

You may well be right, but for some reason I always had the sense that the majority of stories tend to focus on the 'humiliation' rather than the 'fun' side of WAM. In fairness, though, I'm probably basing that assumption on a few previous sites where stories were hosted.
