The way you can change peoples minds is through creating a dialog. Letting them know their "enemy" is a real person. All violence and resistance does is prove them right. Not happy with the outcome? Get yourself involved in politics. Volunteer, start a petition, or even run for a local office. Make change through peace rather than force, with that of a sound mind rather than through panic. If you consider that bending over backwards then just imagine if Trump supporters were talking about resistance and revolution if Hilary had one.

I do not like the man, I think his campaign was a farce, and a great majority of his followers are what makes me afraid to go outside. But to give in to that is to let them win. Try to understand rather than blame. You don't have to kiss anyone's ass or even make nice. Just be civil. Prove them wrong. Make them ashamed of their actions rather than validate them.

And about people coming for you? A private citizen might be able to get away with doing something like that. Worry about lone wolves. But a president is way more restricted in the way he or she can act.

Something I have wondered about: I know that Saturday Night Live (SNL)
mocks endlessly both Democrats & Republicans. Or, as I recall one of the cast members in some tv interview long ago, we "have fun" with the characters, NOT "make fun" of the characters. Ok. I can accept that.
I get that I cannot tell, nobody can tell, what the cast & writers' & crews'
personal political feelings are or for whom they would vote.

But, if, in fact SNL writers & cast & crew ACTUALLY are saddened by Trump winning, then WHY THE FUCK DID THEY PARODY HIM SO MUCH? WHY DID THEY HAVE HIM HOST A SHOW LAST YEAR?

Again, I do not know SNL cast members' REAL political feelings, since their entire livelihood is entertainment, show business, make-believe, pretending.

But, absolutely certainly, the ONLY reason 99% of voters vote for any Demo or Pub is because .. they are ALREADY famous & given even MORE fame by shows like SNL.

So I have absolutely NO sympathy whatsoever for SNL cast members & writers not liking Trump winning. THEY were a major part of the problem.

I recall Ralph Nader being on SNL many times in the 1980s & 1990s.
I think he even hosted once. I remember the last time he appeared
was in 2000, pre-election. In 2008, when I got a chance to ask Ralph Nader in person - what happened to that episode in 2000, where they did a funny bit with you where you imagine as a voiceover of yourself

If SNL had taken REAL risks in writing skits mocking & parodying Gary Johnson and Jill Stein and Zoltan Istvan and Clifton Roberts and all the 3rd party candidates, I would LOVE it. All publicity - at least in the format
of a comedy show - is good publicity. And I guarantee these other parties would have received MANY more votes.
