Let me preface this by saying I am a fat American that eats my share of processed junk food. That being said, I love using Cool Whip for sploshing, but don't really think of it as food. The reason I ask this question is Andi and I were recently at our local Walmart and they had the freezer fully stocked with the large tubs of whipped topping (generic Cool Whip). We went back a day or 2 later to get some to use and they were completely sold out! Are people actually eating this stuff or is there another splosher afoot in our area??
I've been known to wipe out my local Walmart's whipped topping supply in a single trip but not too recently I'm afraid. Can't remember buying it for a reason other than a shoot/session in a long time though.
I don't care for the taste of it either but I have noticed the same pattern in my local Walmarts of them being constantly low on stock...the generic brand is one of the better ones that I've ever used for WAMming purposes though, it doesn't ever seem to melt!
I don't eat it often, but I know there are recipes where you mix it with pudding and make a mousse with it, crumble oreos or other cookies on top, very tasty.
WildThang said: yes! It is a great treat in non-WAM situations. Try it on pancakes, with fruit, on top of a drink, etc.
I can see that, but I usually go for real whipped cream in those situations (or as "real" as that stuff in a spray can is )

According to the last videos I made I eat a ridiculous amount of cool whip. There's this *wipe* *lick fingers* thing going on the entire time
Ha!

Unlikely given some of the crap I eat and the energy drinks Andi burns through

Then it is not just an isolated phenomenon here! And the fact that it doesn't seem to melt is one of the reasons that keeps me from wanting to eat it It can sit in our yard for days after a sploshing if the woodland critters don't get into it!

(And last week )
I get that. For me though, I associate the smell with sploshing

That make sense. Might even be interesting to try for sploshing!

You get to experience some things that we don't though, like boxed custard

Similar to Wild Thang, I can see that; I would prefer to do it with whipped cream though. We are both far from being health nuts, but do try to avoid hydrogenated oils.
I never really even had it until I was like 17. Growing up my mom made whipped cream and then when I told my first long term gf about wam she suggested using cool whip. She apparently had gotten pied when she was younger with dairy whipped cream and got the nasty nose smell so never wanted to get pied even with cool whip, tangent lol anyway, I rarely buy it for non-wam uses but if I do it'd be for like those sugar cookie desserts with strawberries, kiwi, and blue berries. AimMe will buy it occasionally for jello or pudding topping cuz she does like it where I don't mind it.
Not only is it my favorite pie to mess with-I love it in certain frozen desserts!!! Also, I was recently limited in purchasing cool whip and my immediate thought was: who is sploshing near me bc I wanna say HIII!!!!
My relatives would have CW along with whipped cream available as a topping for pies and cakes during the holidays. It's not bad, but eating it once a year was enough.
