This month, we would like to know about models talking in a WAM scene. More specifically, how much does it matter to you? Do you like hearing a lot of dialog and/or seeing a big script/scenario? Do you prefer mostly silence? Do you not really mind either way? Let us know in the vote and voice your opinion in the comments!
For example:
Very minimal talking/reactions only = 'Not at all' vote Full script/monologue = 'Very much' vote
I've seen a couple of videos which are essentially silent, particularly when there's only a single model involved, and I find them quite jarring. If there's nobody talking, I think background music would be better than silence.
I like a script personally. In wam sessions with my girlfriend and the girl from the escort agency, we used to do a bit of role play first, usually lots of "let me have it" and "I want that pie" " are you sure you want it? " and "let me have it!" type exchanges
Wam only matters to me if it's comedy wam. For comedy to happen, we need to establish a character that doesn't want to get messy, and a scenario where that mess would happen, without the character knowing that it would happen to them. That does require a script, but it doesn't have to be Shakespeare.
I almost never really think about it/want to see much dialogue, because of the history of my experience re: quality of writing and the quality of actresses/models' ability to deliver without it sounding super clunky, stiff and awkward -- it takes talent to act, to deliver lines, to sell a joke, etc. And, of course, to pen dialogue that is clever and funny and entertaining.
So, i usually like minimal dialogue if possible.
However, there are some talented writers around here, one of them very much being Kelsey Rose.
The other thing to bear in mind is that while some models are born actors, most have a limited range within which they're believable. A good director finds that range and keeps the actor within it.
You should check out her YCDTOTV comics (I believe you can find them via her UMD profile). She knows how to write dialogue that's genuinely funny, while the skits and comics are incredibly effective WAM-related material.
I believe in the past Ariel and Jayce have said they prefer not a ton of dialogue in customs (this may well have changed, and I apologize for spreading "fake news" if that's the case). I'd love to hear them weigh in. They do great set-ups/concepts, and my gut says they prefer to try and let their organic chemistry make a scene successful. I'd rather have that than too much of an attempt to be, I dunno, the Judd Apatow or Tina Fey of WAM but the actors/models can't remember the lines, or deliver them without heavy prompts from the director, or simply delivers them in a way that just feels really flat, or affected, or dispassionate. I tend to find that kind of distracting, although if the mess or the girl looks especially amazing, I'll purchase and not be particularly disappointed (but I'm not rewatching the video for entertainment purposes, in that case - which, in theory, i'd certainly like to, the way I do several porn movies over the years and not just for wank purposes).
Keeping it simple works. But if you think you can write, cast and execute at a solid level of being verbally clever and funny, I say it's a great challenge to try and shoot for.
I tend to appreciate how basic most producers I like keep it, with some of the aforementioned "You wouldn't dare"s, "And now I suppose you're going to hit me with that pie/Let me have it", and the like.
I've always found the best approach to this is to outline a scenario and character positions, but then let the girls just play the characters and make up their own dialog as they go, rather than trying to script lines that have to be remembered. In our case it helps that most of our people are long term regulars who know what's wanted and can have fun playing around with the established storyline and characters.
For example in the PVC Punishment Gunge scene we released last August we just set the storyline, that Rosemary is punishing Felicity for attempting to make merry with the precious 1940s custard, gave the girls their PVC outfits and green gunge, and let them get on with it, the result was brilliant and flows entirely naturally, and was largely shot in a single take. https://umd.net/download_info/pvc-punishment-gunge

Personally I like to have the models themselves just talk about w hat they are doing and how they are enjoying themselves and just having fun but I wouldn't be against a full dialogue. Just a real turn off is when it is just the model not speaking at all
I find listening to myself cringy and whenever we are editing I hate to hear myself. I like to keep it to minimim after all I'm a wammer not an actor !
When shooting with a single model, a few lines maybe, but let the ambient squelches etc do the talking. There will inevitably be more dialogue when working with two girls, but again the natural noises have their place.

"The Ambient Squelches" were a great 70's punk band.
Context and buildup mean a lot to me in a scene.. Whether somebody deserves it (or doesn't deserve it and is getting it anyway), whether they were tricked, or lost a game, or are worried about having their new clothes ruined, etc... that's kind of intertwined with the appeal of WAM to me.
Not to say that every scene requires a fully-scripted, three minute buildup - obviously there are limitations from a producer's perspective.. but I do feel a good scenario with decent acting or improvisation can elevate a mediocre mess, and the lack of any context at all can make even a really good mess seem kind of boring..
gness7 said: It really does depend. Talking, just any other part of the acting, can be delightful if it's done well. But when it's not...it's a tough scene. I hate cringe situations, and poor acting and dialog is the cringiest.
And it's not always the model's fault. The more content I watch, the more I see the director/producer sinking their on-screen talent with bad direction and worse writing. I don't care how talented of an actor she is, she is never going to make a scene about some girl who pies another girl because she stole her boyfriend something I want to listen to.
Sorry for the rant. Bottom line: if she can perform and if you can write something that doesn't suck, I'm all ears. If not, hard pass.

At this point there are producers I mute because the direction is actually frustrating to hear. Right when the model is getting into a flow, he steps in and redirects her to something absurd or unnatural. Or does something that's clearly meant to scratch his own itch.
I like banter if it's natural and not forced. I like scripts if the models can pull them off. I like silence if the mess is good enough and if it makes sense for the scene or the brand.
What's more important is that it's not awkward or cringey.
Your scenes have great, natural dialogue, so I hesitate to suggest anything to disrupt the good time you all are clearly having. I bought a good number of your scenes but have stopped recently because the reactions to the pies seem to be... non-reactions, if that makes sense. Like they are so accustomed/prepared for it that there's not so much as a sigh, squeal, exhale, whatever. And maybe that's part of the script too.
I'm not after the over-the-top YOU BITCH or UGGH WOW THAT FEELS SO AWESOME stuff, but I would certainly go for a scene that was scripted with pronounced slapstick shock/surprise/whatever reactions. But I feel weird even saying anything because you guys are doing such a great job of producing scenes that work for you, it feels like I'm one step away from asking for specific clothes, etc. And if you have any scenes with that element that I've missed, love to hear about it.
With Newt on this, I think cheesy, bad, slightly OTT pantomime type acting is a great build up for a pie scene. " Oh, what ARE you going to do with all those pies? " says the sexy girl stooge, before being obliterated by about 40 of them

Well first and foremost thank you for buying our scenes and complimenting our work!
Now to get into what you said: we don't necessarily feel like we need to change anything, but we are ALWAYS on the lookout for anything we may have been missing/tweaks we could make. I feel like your request to see more of a reaction to a pie is a small ask that could and probably should be done. We absolutely value this kind of feedback!
As to which scenes have good pie reactions, I would pick 'The Receptionist" because she really wanted to get messy and I feel like it shows in the scene VERY well, "The Fetish Scene" while focused mostly on her feet, does a great job of her shocked 'what is happening to me' reactions along with some very genuine smiles, and either one of "A Day in the Life of The Wife" videos to see the 'begrudgingly accepting of her fate' type of reactions.
Honestly, all these comments so far have made for a very interesting read. It's intriguing to get to see inside of some of your minds. The Wife and I see exactly why you would like what you like with your explanations.

Trust me when I say.....for many, it's a scary place.
