Who would you pick?

For me, it is Hannah Perez in a custom I did a few years ago. She played a girl who had a bake sale and got in the middle of a pie fight between Cali Logan and Keri Spectrum. She gave it her all. I seriously believe she must have had some training in the theatre. Most models say the required lines and go through the motions and it LOOKS like they are going through the motions. Not Hannah. She knocked it out of the park.

Not to toot the horn, but SlapstickStuff has featured some GREAT performances over the years. It helps that we actually try to write out a complete script, rather than giving the models a 2-sentence setup and 3 lines total before they "improvise" the rest.

That said, everyone has a different idea of who my "best" actress is. And beyond that, I've had some models do amazing, funny work with true slapstick reactions and timing, and those scenes sell... OK. And then I've had models with no timing who can't deliver a line, and those scenes sell like hotcakes.

So while acting is *a* factor, it's definitely not the primary one when it comes to influencing buying decisions for most on here. Hell, I've seen preview pics where the models look bored out of their minds (both before and DURING the mess) but other folks rave about how great the scenes look, so diff'rent strokes....

Toshia and Elle certainly have given great performances back (mostly) in SStuuf's pre-HD days. I haven't bought any Brin videos yet, but she looks like another likely candidate for honors in the acting division, based on the previews.

Mrs. Bee and Kay were GREAT in Cafe Wamnifique, which many agree is the funniest of all WAM videos.

Kymbey Jayne is generally great too. The guy behind wetandmessy.com told me she was so good that she always brought her co-stars up to a higher level of performance, even Naomi K, who was plenty good on her own. (Kym and Naomi seemed to have especially great chemistry together.)

Amber and Ginger of PieJinx/PiesNextDoor were both very believable actresses too. (To be fair, those vids were a series of skits only a few lines long each, so that may skew things.)

And I almost hate to even mention their names here, because of the hate comments that will surely follow, but it has to be said that both Phoebe R. And Fawn of WAMF were also two of the finest actresses in all of WAMdom.

I would put Lane up against any WAM model when it comes to acting. And her improvisation, which is another form of acting, was top notch.

It's not surprising that one of our most heralded custom shoots featured both Lane and Hannah. It was a fully scripted custom, but Lane and Hannah were able to put their improv/acting chops into it, and the customer was blown away with the final results.

Can't believe I forgot to include Lane in my list. I totally agree with you, MG, that she is among the very best in the business. There's a certain deadpan quality to her line delivery that is damn near perfect. And you've told me in chat that a lot of her best lines she makes up herself, which makes her even more impressive, because she's uttered some of the most classic lines in any WAM videos ever. Such as: "I'm already CREAMY being here between you two girls, so why don't you CREAM ME?"

And since you bring up improv skills, I'd also like to mention Vanessa, the Art Student. Anglefan's scripts will clearly never any awards, but Vanessa had a way of expanding the lines he fed her and/or improvising her own lines that was pretty incredible.

Can that be downloaded anywhere? I've seen a clip of that scene on youtube, and it looks great.

Lane is a beautiful lady and I appreciate her willingness to do pretty much anything WAM related, but I always felt her acting was not her strong point. I know people have agreed with me in various private messages over the years.

But again, she is pretty awesome for doing all that she has done.

For me, it has to be Jessie. Her reactions, comic timing & ability to play any role written, are incredible to me. As someone for whom acting is paramount she is the very best I have worked with (amid some very stiff competition). She can also ad-lib amazing comedy lines that would crack up the rest of the cast & the crew (ie Tony & I)

Well, it's me! I killed it as the awesome wizard in pie pantasia and i was amazing as santa Claus I'm my most recent video. Yes I'm classically trained, so it's expected I suppose.

But since your talking about females, I vote for Angelfans Amber and stacy, my own miranda nicole and dorothy grant.
Cali logan is a great talent, and Sumiko if you hunt down her few wam vids. I loved that one kinda Asian looking gal of slapstickstuff too, but I forget the name....

And of course MG's Lane is awesome, but I also think her new girl Amy is fantastic too!! Lots of great talent out there. Hopefully I'll be bringing some new ones to you guys this new year!!!!

Although I disagree with it personally, I think I understand your bone of contention with Lane's acting. She certainly doesn't "disappear into her roles." With Lane, it's not about becoming a believable character within the dramatic/comedic world of the video, but much more about remaining her knowing, sarcastic and oh-so-sexy self, delivering a sort of metaphorical wink to the audience with every classic line that comes out of her luscious lips. For this reason, I rank her as a fantastic performer, even if in conventional terms she's not a very convincing actress.

That sums it up quite nicely. Her characters are aware they are just that - characters in a WAM video. I imagine its VERY hard to disappear into your role when you have so little to go on. The scripts given to models typically say something vague like "She is a baker. Her customer is unhappy. Pie fight ensues."

That said, that is EXACTLY what makes Hannah's performance stand out. She BECOMES the role.

I do agree with you on Amy. She has been in only a handful of shoots for us, but what we have seen from her so far, has been a pleasant surprise.

In between all the Meryl Streep monologues, I hope there's time for some muddy Hannah/Penelope scissoring.

I can't believe nobody mentioned the videos we did with Heidi Klum and Elle McPherson. I mean granted they aren't actresses, but still thought they performed very well.

When you worked with her, what was the experience like, off camera? Was she on time? Does she go to you or you go to her? Was she silly? Serious? etc.

I love this running joke of yours... The sad irony is that if you DID release a video featuring Heidi & Elle pieing each other tomorrow, it would probably sell less than your first Ivy video from 15 years back.
