Today is WSM's Birthday! WSM celebrates 38 years of continuous trading We are the oldest WAM business in the world!
How do you write a review covering 38 years? We have made an attempt on our website firstly by highlighting some girls who were so important in the 1980's. Then we move on to look at the 9 Vintage Films we made between 1985 and 2000. We do that by showing a series of video Clips. Finally, we look at some HD movie Clips from 2012 to 2019.
We have upgraded an image set shot in January 1984. Set S003 of Eve in her custard filled bath, was truly a defining moment in the history of both WSM and WAM and showed the unlimited opportunities to create Wet and Messy scenes. Do remember that such shots had not been seen! We have now revisited this set, given it a makeover so it now has 161 shots (available on our Subscription site). So here is the true story about how this was shot: It was a Saturday morning when I visited Eve's flat on 26th January 1984. In any shoot you have a concept, then a reality, as all filming involves compromise! There was no video. Her man stayed in bed as we busied ourselves making custard! There were no cartons or tins of custard then. You wanted custard so you prepared it on the stove. The bathroom was chill and very unpretentious. But look at what was achieved! And what do you need people? The same as today! Vision and determination! In 4 hours we shot the bath of custard set S003 plus a wet set (image set W004 with 49 shots which is on the website). The world was a different place in 1984. No internet. No video for the ordinary man. No digital photography. Everything was shot on slides or prints. WSM had started by selling slide sets. This was a big problem..for how do you let people know you exist? Just 19 months later, we started filming the very first commercial WAM video WSM 1 'The Hopeful Starlet' (which we have released as Download streams available in our Online Store). Over 35 years after Eve, we still continue! We show you 5 updated sample shots of Eve's custard bathset S003, that helped to kick-start the photographic journey of WAM.
Amazing achievement Mike. 38 years young! Some wonderful ladies featured over the years but i think Debbie and Carol were the best which probably shows my vintage.
Remember when you first came out. That 5th picture of eve was an instant classic. Remember the slide sets as well - used a hand-held viewer to see them. Advertised in Splosh Magazine. Where did the last 38 years go?!
Way to go! You should track down a few of your models from way back when and see if they would re-do their shoots. Always wondered how some of them aged, including some of the Messy Fun Girls from Rob Blaine. Would love a "Catching up with..." series. It would sell!
I always liked Carol and Debbie too, also Suzanne, loved the bit in the Hopeful Starlet where was hugely messed up as a secretary and also her in the nurses uniform in the shower.
Wow, 38 years, now that's an achievement, well done!
Love the second picture, and having once mixed up a tub of gravy for a shoot (which took a couple of hours to do), respect for making that much custard from powder! We certainly do all have it a lot easier these days.
Thank you to eveyone who responded to the iconic Eve custard shoot from Jan 1984. It took me a few days to give the images a total makeover but the results are just great. Little did I think when I went to a flat opposite Sefton Park in Liverpool on a dreary cold January day in 1984, that the resulting set would resonate down the years! Thanks for your kind comments on WSM's 38th Birthday! But we are not finished yet! Mike Ellison www.wsmprod.com
