I found this yesterday on youtube. Some woman in a Texas Rangers baseball jersey gets caked by a mascot. It looks like a promo of some sort. It's short with unbelievable coverage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eB8lWsOzVxM
I wish the uploader would've provided more context for this clip. Best I can tell, it's from a sports mascot page, and probably part of a much larger video with multiple cake victims. Clutch The Bear is in the shot, and caking other teams' fans is his "thing" (although he's NBA not MLB).
My suspicion is there's a full clip out there, but not necessarily in higher quality or with any sort of extended footage for this particular caking. Shame, as more aftermath would be nice.
Also, the guy's channel is very recent, but all the clips are old (sometimes decades) so I suspect this isn't super recent.
Hey. I know what you mean Rich. I didn't upload it, and that's true about the other clips on that channel being older, so odd. I had never seen this one. I tried to look into it, but didn't have any luck finding anything more pertaining to this. Wow, i never really thought about that. You are right. I seen a few other clips similar to this, not usually with baseball teams. I think it was football, basketball, and hockey teams. That would be great if there was more clips, or even a longer clip of this caking. She really got it good, this is about the best coverage i've seen it anything mainstream in awhile. It had to be pre planned. They made it look like it was a surprise, but i think that is the direction they must have been going for. That really had me wondering about the uploader too, it had to have been done awhile back. I can't believe this didn't surface before. I was pretty sure i never seen it posted on here, or youtube for that matter before this. On another note, i've always been a big fan Rich. Your work has always been top notch!
I guarantee it's related to Clutch (even if it's a different mascot doing the caking)..... I was friends with the guy who originated the character, and cakings were always part of his schtick. And the Houston Astros are big rivals with the Rangers, so that makes sense too. (Clutch is the mascot for the Rockets.) It also means this is years old, as the current guy doing Clutch seems to have abandoned cakes altogether?
It bugs me how many Clutch cakings are lost to time, honestly. There's a few online, but he did a LOT of them in person at the games, and rarely were they filmed. (Or if they were, only a couple seconds were used in a montage.) The guy's GF/wife was often on the receiving end, and she was/is quite cute. I have a great still shot from one such caking... Alas, no video! Most of the actual videos out there skew 95% male.

I didn't realize it was that mascot for the Houston Astros, so it only makes sense that Rockets mascot set that up That is really cool you knew that guy! That was an interesting setup and idea. I can't imagine getting caked at a basketball game or something, lol. That sucks it's that old, i can't believe this never surfaced before. I think you are right about it being a clip too. It's only like 7 seconds long. I don't know if maybe it was a piece of a commercial, or promo spot or what. I had no idea that this was a regular thing either, that sucks that most of it either wasn't recorded, or lost. That is crazy and kind of cool that they did it at the games too. That is very interesting to me. I can't imagine what getting caked at a sporting event would be like, lol. That's neat he used to cake his girl haha. I know what you mean, i think i've stumbled across a few of the male ones. I don't think i have ever seen one as good as this one is, she is completely caked, lol. I would love to see more of these, or even a long version of that caking. It is almost a fraction as good as one of your cakings. I'm kind of partial to those

That full promo was definitely different. It had a lot of potential. I don't know how much harder that mascot could have caked those people. Yeah i definitely wonder if there was some neck and back trauma. Son of a bitch. You really gotta wonder with this one. The blond woman at least didn't get assaulted. You know they had to have planned this out. But that whole spot had an odd feel to it, not too sure what to think now. Lol. Crazy ass mascots run amuck with big sheetcakes. Not good
This is my favorite genre. I only hate the fact that it tends to be short, blurry and silent, while often having males around. but the aspect of one girl being targeted in front of a whole crowd, or just being punished for wearing the wrong shirt.
Weird how their musical choices are always that one song or ("I won't do that" for valentines - fingers crossed for a mascot having a shitty date this year).
