I've always been curious about what motivates amateurs to agree to do WAM shoots with producers - particularly the younger/college-aged "girl next door" types who often seem too sweet or innocent to be doing this type of thing. I've seen various motivations kicked around: money, genuine curiosity, their friends pulling them in etc.

Curious to hear producers' thoughts on this, and how it may have evolved over the years given influencer culture/OF etc.

Money. And probably because it sounds fun/easy, but I'd say mostly money.

Well I think it's a combination of things, starting with the fact that it's easy money but also we live in a very sex positive age so the taboo element of engaging with fetishes isn't the death sentence it used to be. Hell, look at music videos or general advertising now vs 15 years ago. Everything is wrapped in a sexy element

But also, I think people who are into wam have an obsession with the "forbidden" nature of it. A pie in the face or getting covered in slime is like the forbidden fruit. It's almost sacred in a twisted way. To people outside of the fetish, it's just something that people do sometimes. It's just a pie in the face, it's just getting messy. Nothing more to it really. Plus most of the time there's not even nudity involved so how bad can it really be compared to traditional pornography

I guess it depends on the production, but your emphasis on "sweet and innocent" implies you were referring to perhaps a more explicit version of WAM than I'm accustomed to shooting. If so, bear in mind that the biggest sweethearts in the world can still have the capacity to do explicit adult work. And "innocence" is a character judgement that the model may not think factors into that type of work. After all, getting naked on camera is a far cry from robbing banks and pistol-whipping grannies. But I digress.

There are billions of women in this world. It's not a stretch to believe that a healthy portion of them think doing kink video work is no big deal, an honest day's pay, a fun story to tell, what have you. Finding them is the tricky part, but doable if you don't treat it as a thing they should be ashamed to do.

The producer may have been referred by a friend who models. The pay compares well with alternative jobs. They are body positive & have a sense of fun/humour. The degree of nudity involved may be negotiable. The images are unlikely to circulate widely as this is a niche fetish. Producers also seem open to a range of body types and ages.

Money of course but also its an easy ass fetish for the most part. Also people are open to getting messy especially anyone whose a lil freaky at least in my experience it is not hard to convince someone to get messy and its really easy to convince someone to pie someone else. It looks fun.

Plus I have to imagine if one is a porn or fetish model they probably see this as an easy and fun fetish as opposed to other fetishes that are more labor intensive. Money is always a motivating factor but those models who work in WAM I have to imagine they either like it or its an easy peasy way to make money through sex work.

^^^^^THIS! The whole concept of "sweet and innocent" vs "sexual being" needs to end. It's tied into the whole chastity cult that sees women as property that is worth more if it's "untouched", which should be utterly abhorrent to any right-thinking person. Women are sexual beings just as much as guys are, and just as entitled to explore their own sexuality.

Second, after that, why do women do wam? Vaying combinations of fun, and/or money, and/or they actually enjoy it, either sexually or just they like the sensations. The pay for a day doing WAM shoots is usually rather more than someone could earn from an entire day working in a fast food place or similar, and as long as someone doesn't mind getting messy, the work can be significantly easier and more fun too.

And bear in mind there are many degrees of "enjoying it". Just because someone isn't getting turned on sexually by having her pants filled wth custard doesn't mean she isn't enjoying the unusual sensations and experience - or the fact that she'll get to do it back to the girl who just did it to her, and is even now nervously enjoying her last few moments of being clean and dry, knowing exactly what is about to happen to her in response.

I would venture to guess way too many people have been duped into participating in other people's kinks.

And I'll echo that we need to end this whole weird, outdated, "sweet & innocent" vs. "dirty porn" argument about models.

Every model has likes & dislikes, every model has her own set of boundaries, and they're all unique to the individual so you can't make any kind of broad-based judgment call.

Just a few examples from my own experience in recent years:
--Plenty of models will shoot nude (for "art" or otherwise) but won't do ANY kind of WAM (even clothed) because of the fetish connection.
--Plenty of models make stupid money from their OnlyFans and are fine with selling hardcore content there.... But have ZERO interest in doing WAM, because they simply don't like the fetish, or it's not worth it to them financially.
--One model I've used regularly won't do OF, but she's fine with WAM, although it must be clothed.
--Another model won't do OF and only shoots with photogs she trusts, like me.... But is 100% fine with getting super messy AND naked. In this case, it's a trust thing.
--Most of my current models, "innocent" or otherwise, have an OF on the side and tend to be a lot raunchier there than in my vids.
And honestly, that last one is how it is now for most models. The idea of a "girl next door" who ONLY does WAM is (largely) a myth that some of you still think is real.

Also, I'm not fooling myself that these models shoot for the "love" of WAM. The second a model of mine can pull down $1000 a week (or more) off her OF, I've basically lost her forever. Would they *maybe* keep working with me after? In theory, but realistically when their asking price goes up to $4000, it makes no financial sense.

The advantage of the WAM community being so niche-centric now is that customers can get *exactly* the kind of scene they want (usually).
The disadvantage is that no producer can really bring in a top model anymore, unless they want to lose money in the process, because the best models now know EXACTLY what they're worth.

I've hired a few models online and shot with a few in person. The motivations usually tend to go in this order:

1. Money is the favorite, by far.

2. They're fun and just want to try something new. This girl I shot with actually requested we use eggs because she saw some social media star take a bath in eggs and wanted to know how it felt.

3. Some just enjoy showing off their body. The girl in the picture is an exhibitionist and loves being naked in front of people. What I get from WAM, she gets from strangers seeing her naked body.

5. Money again. Sometimes they can sell some of the pictures taken of them online. The girl in this pic sold some of these oily pics on her OF for a little extra money.

6. They're into WAM themselves. This one is rare. I've shot/ordered videos from 7-8 different models over the years and only 2 of them were actually into WAM themselves.

Very much this. Some of my favorite models are girls you'd never expect to see masturbating naked in a gunge tank, or dressed up in leather giving orders to someone, or covered in oil scissoring a friend in a kiddy pool. Chloe Toy is my favorite example of this. She's very active on social media and regularly plays video games on twitch, chatting with followers. She's an absolute sweetheart but she has a very wild side when it comes to her sex work. If you passed her on the street, you'd never think she does the things we've seen her do.

I say money is a big factor.

I've been in this site a long time and seen a lot of great models come and go. It's been hard to realize that most of them were just after money and weren't really wammers.

I would imagine it varies from person-to-person since women vary greatly from person-to-person just like men do. There's no one-size-fits-all answer. But money is definitely a motivator, probably the primary one for a model working for a producer, maybe a secondary one for a woman posting her own paid content. It really depends. And I agree with the comments above saying that it's time to stop thinking of women in the sense that it's some great miracle or improbability that they're just as sexually charged/horny as men. That's a myth that we've been socialized to believe because of the different behavioral expectations placed on women, and it's nothing more than that.

Well, if it's a "new" model, doing it for the first time, they don't know what it's going to be like, so I'd guess it's a combination of money and curiosity.

This makes me think of something I often see in threads, where we're quick to decide whether a model "enjoys" WAM or not, on the basis of whether the model keeps doing WAM shoots or stops after the first one. It isn't as simple as that. A model might only do one video, but it doesn't necessarily mean she didn't enjoy it.

Equally, a model can be in videos for multiple sellers, for years on end, and actually dislike it, but just thinks of the money. Not that it's always going to be especially well paid, but the sum of money can be the difference between being unable or able to pay all their bills that month. Model life is not easy. There is not always as much opportunity as you might imagine for picking and choosing what types of shoots to do.

There's a curiosity to most girls when it comes to sex. We like new and novel things. Someone who isn't into WAM may try it because she just wants to see what it's about. There's only so much pleasure we can get from having our clits rubbed and things up our vaginas so finding ways to spice it up or try something totally new is really appealing, especially when we're younger and in our prime.

For a lot (and I'll include myself here although I'm a wammer), there's a big turn on for exhibitionism. It's not about the specific of the kink being interesting it's just participating in a public sexual act. As women, we're told to mask our sexuality--every girl has been disciplined for "dress code violations" at school for nothing because it's "too distracting." We're told to cover up. Female celebrities who are too sexual are chastized. There's a lot of fun in doing what we're not supposed to and having sex on camera or flaunting our sexuality is often a huge turn on. Sometimes it's just about that.

Getting some money too is really nice but the thrill of the act--that's where it's at for most girls. The money makes doing something you wouldn't normally do more palatable and because there's a social cost to being sexual in public for women, helps with that. We won't do things we don't like for money--girls with OFs aren't ashamed of what they're doing and just saying "I need to make extra cash so I'll do it even though I hate it." It's kinda a way to get some extra out of it all.

Most girls can tell when something *is* a kink. The way someone acts or the look in his eye gives it away. She may not fully understand the nature of the kink but she's most assuredly aware that it *is* a kink, at least for all but the naive.

Guys look at us like objects all the time so we're kinda used to that part of it. The idea of participating in a kink you don't fully understand isn't a problem for most of us as long as
1. We are consenting to sexual actions of some kind with that person
2. The kink or actions required aren't uncomfortable or too weird for us

Example: if you ask the average girl who's into you if she's willing to wear lingerie, almost all will consent knowing full well it's a kink for the guy even if she herself doesn't find lingerie particular interesting. The act of wearing it is within boundaries for virtually everyone (or she's probably just not doing anything sexual) so it's cool. But if you ask a woman to cut herself because that's a kink, she will find that too much because that's not a fun act.

Also context. The act of showing my feet is pretty harmless to me and I do it all the time when I'm wearing sandals or open shoes. But if I'm sitting having coffee and someone comes up to ask to see my feet, I'll tell him to buzz off because at that moment, I don't want to participate actively in a kink, even though the kink itself is like "Ok, cool, that's no biggie for me at all."

Just echoing the sentiments above: it's almost never because the model's super into WAM. Open-minded and kink-friendly? Sure, but it's definitely our fantasy to imagine our favorite WAM models being secretly super into getting messy. It's usually about girls who want to make some money who are open minded but also have personal limits/codes that don't allow them to make more on OF doing x-rated stuff.

I will say more often than not, the girls that are interested are usually super cool people--which makes sense--you gotta be humble and down to earth to agree to the messes I dole out

It's funny, I hired "models" many years ago, was easier then, money was a big motivator, some wouldn't do it for anything, I'm not a producer, I hired them for myself, but nowadays, seems harder to find them unless you advertise and really pay them whatever it is

If this is true, let us all be thankful that it is only 'sometimes'. Money, is of course the main motivation, but exhibitionism is usually the second. And yea, they know the audience is wanking to what they do. I've said it before, but it bears repeating; what we look for are essentially thrill seeking exhibitionists.

It's also interesting that the vast majority of the folks responding to this thread are non-producers. Not that they are wrong. It's just funny.
