I love colours and paint.
I'm in china and wondering what to buy to play with my partner and skin safe as acrylic isn't the way to go. Can you please advise?

The easiest would be to buy children's finger paint in bulk. I would look for paints that say "non toxic" on the labe.

As muddy_clothes suggested, water based children's paint is a good shout.

Definitely avoid anything that is oil based!


Just a quick one on this, non-toxic doesn't necessarily mean that it is safe for skin contact or contact with mucous membranes (the anus, vagina, nose etc.).

It's also worth noting that something that is non-toxic to humans may be harmful to plant and wildlife and therefore shouldn't be washed down the drain.

In the UK, I use kids washable poster paints

I also use matt emuslion meant for walls - but make sure it is low VOC and don't have extended long playtimes in it

Mixing with gunge/natrasol/hec is also a good way to lessen any potential effects

One thing you can try is soap paint

Easy to clean up and fun to work with you can wash it off in a shower but the longer it's on you the more likely the colors could stain potentially
