I had a great wallow in some tidal mud last weekend, always under the cover of darkness is my preferance. However i managed to misplace my watch at the entry point as id forgotton to leave it behind. I had to go back the next day in the light to find it I was wondering if any of the fellow mudders have had similar experiences?

Not quite lost, but one time when I was stuck up to my waist in mud (the same mud as in these pictures) I was trying to pull myself out by reaching up to a tree branch, looked down, and saw my wristwatch lying in the mud - I'd broken the strap in my struggles.

Other than that, I've occasionally left small items like gloves, socks or (on one occasion) a welly insole behind when hurriedly changing out of my muddy clothes after a session. Like you I went back later and was able to retrieve them.

I've lost a few things snacks and sometimes my mind

I let myself flop off the back of a wave runner on Lake Mead to cool off while location scouting and wondered why it was so bright all of a sudden.

To this day, there's a pair of prescription sunglasses imbedded in the bottom of Ann Margaret Cove.

If anyone finds them, let me know.

Someday archeologist are going to find a lot of clothes, sunglasses, etc at the bottom of dried up, ancient mud puddles and be really confused.

No matter how hard I pulled, it wouldn't come out of the bottom of the mudpit.

No problem getting my feet out. Or even the other shoe.

I never lost anything else. I can't remember where I leave things in my own house, but I was extremely organized about mud outings. In fact I was carrying another set of shoes that day so I didn't have to bicycle home with one bare foot.

I biked to mud frequently back then. When all you have is a bicycle basket, you have to be organized!

Not mud but a few weeks ago we were in the lake with the dog and I thought my shorts were zippered.... They were not and my keys took a swim good thing 1. The water was clear. 2. I have them on a long lanyard 3. My wife was behind me and found them..

Long ago, when I used to seek out mud pits to play in I lost a flip flop. It got stuck and I couldn't get it out and wanting to get away, I just ran off with it it. On a different occasion, I lost my panties Wearing a skirt as I always did, I pulled them down for access and in my self pleasuring they kind got sucked down or off or whatever into the mud. I sure wasn't going to dive down to get them! Whoops.

I really wonder if someone will find them one day and wonder what the girl who lost them was like, how on earth she lost them. I wonder if they will assume something terrible happened to me. And it's like nope, I was just a horny college girl who got herself off in the mud.

To be fair with the amount of mud scenes we have done..we have lost knickers,shoes and bras....we do really try not leave anything behind,but if it really sinks in whilst having fun its just an occupational hazard I guess...

Went to an estuary when I used to live in Essex. I was wearing my yellow Nike Mercurial football trainers that I'd simply tucked the laces in and not tied up. I'd wanted for them to come a little bit loose as I walked through the soft mud but hadn't expected to sink half way to my knees with one step. My foot was slightly pointed and as I pulled my leg up, it simply slid straight out of my trainer and the gap I'd made closed up so I couldn't see my shoe. I dipped my foot into the gap to try and feel for my trainer but just couldn't find it. I decided to leave it and thought, there's no point having just one shoe on, so I purposely got my other shoe stuck deep too and left them there, made my way out and heading back to the car with very muddy socks and trackies. I did venture back in the following weeks to see if they may have been washed up or someone had miraculously found them but no, just the faint remains of the holes that I'd created.

Seriously though, I'm fortunate to say I haven't lost anything personally. It must be so annoying/sad for anybody that does lose or misplaces anything. One of the (mud) pitfalls of mud wallowing.

If you were covered in mud from head to toe, you were in a comfortable situation because the mud ensured anonymity and no one would recognize if you were that dirty.
