I'm looking to make a decent amount of liquid chocolate, preferably with some thickness, so it's not too runny. What's an easy cheap way of making this? I want to make possibly 20-30 litres or more. Doesn't actually have to be chocolate, just be convincing to look at
My suggestion would be to buy corn syrup in bulk combine it with a large jug of regular chocolate syrup and water it down to get the right consistency.
Not the absolute cheapest option depending on price per unit but might be the easiest.
I have previously used thin (very watered down) slime powder mixed with cocoa/hot chocolate powder. The colour, smell and taste was right but the consistency wasn't quite right but good value for money when dealing with large quantities.
There are many ways to achieve this. If you want it to taste like chocolate/be edible - and thick - a good base is natural yoghurt (available in large containers for comparatively little money) mixed with cocoa powder and icing sugar.
There are many other ways to achieve this visually and cheaply with clay and poster paint etc. but it won't taste very nice or be edible.
