1. Why don't those who like wetlook and faffing in water meet up at a private pool? I don't think i've seen a wet meet advertised, like i've seen messy meets posted. There has to be UK pools available and amenable, as there are plenty of wetlook producers shooting in UK based pools. Wpuld anyone be up for this while its still summer?
2. Has anyone been to Club Aquarium in London? Its the only nightclub in the UK with a pool, and its a large one! Has anyone else been and would anyone like to go? I've been thinking to go and visit
3. Any fresh lakes, wells in the UK, preferably down south that are fun and safe to swim in? Or rivers with boating where it'd be possible to jump in without being seen?
1) I think that would be a great idea. I have been on the lookout for such a place for years. There are a number of problems. Public pools ban wearing of clothing for a number of spurious reasons, which are much discussed elsewhere, so I'll not re-hash them here. Therefore, the meet would have to be in a private pool, preferably hosted by a wetlooker, and ideally one without a onlooking lifeguard to dampen our inhibitions! Another factor to consider is that most of us here find that there's a sexual aspect to wetlook. Are we all comfortable getting turned on in front of each other, even if those feelings aren't acted upon? For some people that would be yes. Others might not be able to conceive of anything worse! All these things contrive to reduce the numbers of available attendees.
That said, find me a private pool, and I'm in!
2) I've not been, but I've looked into it. Every review of the place I can find describe it as awful. Bad music, dirty etc. The pool isn't always open either. My opportunities for going are severely limited anyway. Although I live in London I have a non-wetlook wife and children too. I can't really skive off on a Saturday night. I am actually self employed, so I COULD go any time during the week, but I don't think nightclubs are generally open at 10am on a Tuesday. Early evenings are a possibility, but I don't know how it would be at those times. I can't imagine that the place really gets going until late. Anyway, I am interested. If you make it there, let me know how it goes. I'm not against going with you if its feasible.
3) Yes, and no. Maybe PM me on this point. I know of three locations. However, "safe" is relative. The most accessible is Shadwell Basin in East London. I swim there frequently, and it would be great to have another clothed swimmer with me. It would certainly make me feel less self-conscious. Normally, when I go there I swim in cycling gear, as that is the best way for me to get there. Hundreds, if not thousands of people swim there every summer. However, it is not lifeguarded, it is covered in signs saying no swimming allowed, and recently someone drowned there, so it is safe? That's subjective. Its possible that the victim was doing something stupid; the details haven't been released. The other two locations I know of are more isolated. You would need a car or at least, a bike. My observation is that virtually EVERY body of water in the south of the UK has been staked out by anglers. It's very, very hard, to find somewhere were there's no risk of being seen. As I say, PM me, or send me an email, to isthisobscureenough@yahoo.co.uk, if you want to discuss.
