There's a time and place for everything. Here is an example of a complete waste of money and time. I love WAM but hate the "trend" of weddings devolving into cynical (we have money and food to waste) free-for-alls. Question is - what will they throw during the divorce?
Above the belt I agree with you completely, Sweem. This seems to have been a staged "trash the dress" sort of photo op at the reception. It is a disgusting display of indulgence, narcism, decadence, and waste. It says a lot about the wealth divide and the times in which we are living.
Below the belt, the "irrational" and purely erotic side of me finds this to be a turn on. These guys had what was described as a "fairy tale wedding" and they topped it off THIS way! ...a beautiful, expensive cake that gets smashed and a dress that gets totally ruined. It seems to have started with the bride actually crawling onto the table.
This couple actually finds a way to have fun at a wedding, that involves getting messy, and people on a MESSY FETISH FORUM sit here and complain about it? Talk about "narcism."
Regis...critiquing a wam scene (or any scene with content that appeals to a sub-culture group), based upon MUCH prior experience and exposure to such material, is not 'narcissism' (it maybe be pretentious, seeming)...but you'll have to define how you are applying the word to a criticism of this scene.
