Thought I'd make a second sticky post just to say this. Can't believe everybody doesn't know this, but the mask is not really to protect YOU. It's to protect others from a deadly virus that you may not even know you have since it's asymptomatic.
If you can properly social distance, cool. But every time you go near anyone without a mask on, you'll have to live with a guilty conscience, knowing that the chance that you've killed someone is literally nonzero. That's just facts.
Yes please. This is not fear mongering, this is not political. It's courtesy. It may not seem it, but it's the ultimate courtesy. I work with this god damned disease every day. I know people who have gotten it and not been able to trace it because of asymptomatic people.
I know of an older person who died because their caregiver was asymptomatic and ended up giving it to them.
Multiple vaccines are being rushed out, and we don't know how effective they are in practice yet. This isn't over, but we have ways to live around it.
This is something so small we can do to respect and be good to one another!
