I've got several WAM tapes I made about 10 years ago of me doing various messy kinky things (primarily cake sitting).
I filmed them on a Sony PD150 camera which takes Mini DV cassettes and used to transfer to PC directly via Firewire. The camera (and for the most part, the format) is not compatible with Windows 8 onwards, so when I transferred my OS from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I lost the means to save these videos. The camera is on its last legs, and only really serves as a deck now, so I want to transfer all the footage to a modern and widely supported format.
I have two options I could try myself: 1) Upgrade an old Windows 7 computer with a firewire port (expensive outlay for a one off project) 2) Send the tapes to a transfer service (but I'd be embarrassed for anyone outside this community to see the footage)
The third option I thought is whether anyone else from UMD (UK based) has the means to transfer these over? If so, I could mail the tapes and get them transferred for a small fee... (or an original VHS copy of Splosh TV's Messy Missies!)
Just thought I'd put this out in case anyone can help out or make a sensible suggestion!?

Thanks.
Late to this post but during lockdown I was doing something similar (albeit on a Mac) but I bought a cable for about £28 from https://www.climaxdigital.co.uk/ and then used the camera to playback and the software records it all digitally.
Have to say I was impressed as stuff like this usually turns out to be junk but it's worked a dream.
