To all UMD members: The ability to "wam" each other on UMD is now open to everybody, not just VIP's. A "wam" is like a Facebook "poke" where the other person gets a simple message on their wall. I also added a bunch new different types of wams, and they'll switch up each day.
So head on over and visit some of your best friends and wam them by clicking their "Wam Me" button!

Because right now all I'm picturing is women on this site getting flooded with unsolicited form messages from guys describing the ways they would WAM them--whether they want to receive those messages or not. Basically, the creep-o-grams they already get but with even less effort involved.
I see that you can opt out of the WAM part, which is good. Perhaps make it opt-in instead?
All wamming does is put a message on the recipient's wall and send them a notification, much like a Facebook poke.
I think the chances of flooding are pretty limited. There is a limit of 3 wams in 24 hours, and only 1 wam per recipient per day. If your inbox is set to friends-only as many female accounts are, then only friends can wam you. And new female members are automatically set to friends-only. The messages are pre-made so they can't get too crazy. And then there is the option to easily opt out altogether. So far we haven't had problems, but I can make changes in the future if we see any issues!
Messmaster, I think that the "Wam Party" idea is a great bit of harmless fun, and it's nice that you've opened it up to all users... I'd never thought about the idea of it being abused as people can turn it off... but I guess there will always be some that will cross a line so having a blanket "create your own WAM" category which posts whatever a user types wouldn't be a good idea...
Just wondering whether as "foot fetish" seems to be a relatively common add-on to the WAM fetish (although I'm happy to be corrected if your stats say otherwise), would you consider adding something for those who like messy feet such as "[WAMmer] plunged [victim]'s bare feet into a bucket of custard"?

Absolutely... I've added it to the list so I can add it to the rotation later. (The list of available wams changes each day.) You can always suggest a new wam via the Contact page.
