A few years ago I had an idea for a Wam party game that I would call "Pie Bowling". To play this game, you would need at least 7 people. You would also need 21 pies per person (or the ability to make pies on the spot), Each set of 21 pies would be a unique color. Each pie is a shot. The bowler picks up a pie or his or her color. The other 6 players line up in a triangle like bowling pins. The bowler throws the pie at the people in triangle Each person who receives a significant amount of pie splatter is considered to be pin that has been knocked down. If the bowler doesn't splatter all 6 people with the first pie, those he or she did splatter would leave the triangle. The people that didn't get splattered remain, the the bowler throws a 2nd pie to complete the "frame". After the frame is over, the head pin becomes the bowler, and the "pins" are reset: the 2-pin becomes the head pin; the 3-pin becomes the 2-pin, etc., until finally the previous bowler becomes the 6-pin. Play continues until everyone has bowled 10 frames. The game is scored in the same manner as one scores bowling except that strikes and spares count as 6 rather than 10. Of course, for safety's sake, the pies need a soft base, and the players need to discuss ahead of time how hard a pie can be thrown. Since it is likely that there will be left over pies, the players can decide what will be done with them ahead of time. One possibility is that the person with the lowest score gets pelted with the remaining pies. (Of course, this punishment would put me in a quandary: I'm competitive and I love throwing pies, so I would want to win, but I would love to pelted by pies, so i would want to lose. What to do, what to do ... )
disclaimer: I realize that it's quite possible that someone has published this game before I have. I want to assure that person, should he or she exist, and the UMD community, that I developed this idea without reference to any other material and, if the ideas have been published , like to apologize for publishing ideas that have already been published.
