It's not lack of effort...well ok it is...but that's mostly due to being young and inexperienced.
Or they just blurt out something silly about wamming and expect the person they are talking to...to instantly understand.
They don't get that ANY kind of friendship or relationship has to be established first....you both have to "buy into" each other as friends first....wam friends second IF the combination of both of you is "right" to begin with. Otherwise it's like going fishing with someone who doesn't like to fish.
I made that mistake years ago as well. Trying to have a WAM friendship with women that just didn't "get it." It's pointless. But younger people are so desperate to find someone to share the kink with and so inexperienced in relationships in general that they crash and burn a lot before they figure it out. Which I guess is just a normal part of life. And some if they are lucky, pick up on it quickly.
Much easier today due to the internet and realizing that you are not "alone" in your interest.
