Just a little something I read today that got me thinking about this "holiday".
Valentine's Day is a marketing ploy to prey on fools. Women may like diamonds, but they aren't necessarily a "girl's best friend". Male, female, or anything in between; remember: no bauble, no card, no piece of candy, can compare or take the place of your time and attention to your lover.
I'm not saying don't get something for your SO, or take them out, or whatever you're planning on doing. I'm saying that one day doesn't make up if you're not attending your partner the rest of them. It shouldn't be any different than any other day. It's not a get out of jail free card.
Roses, candy, dinner, (booze and lotion for us single people :bahaha they're all going to be jacked up in price, and you'll probably be hurried out of the restaurant for the next reservation too.
Who you are, and what you do are more important than what you get them. And everyday should have the same kind of love, passion, and romance as Valentine's Day.
And to all of you fellow singles out there (and The North Side Gang), tomorrow I shall raise a glass (or bottle) of Hennessy to all of you!
