So it's Valentine's Day. Obviously over time the true meaning of the day has been lost, and swallowed up my fat cats praying on people and make money and something that is free...love.
Valentine's Day is a day to show love, but also a day to reflect love. The people you loved and lost. The loves you miss, and ones you are with.
Whether it's a quite night in front of tv, a meal deal from a supermarket, and expensive dining experience, being dragged to the latest Bridget Jones movie, and even having amazing messy session (you lucky person).
I hope you enjoy and spend time with the one's you love.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone
And as a advocate of Splosh! Which of course, I love, here's a few pics, and why not
Nothing this year I am afraid and it's been like that for the last 57 years. I don't think I have ever been sent a card or had to enjoy Renee Zellweger pretending she's English. It just seems to be something that has just passed me by. Even my wife says 'No' the massive industrial complex which is St Valentines Day.
Got to love the vintage Splosh posts. Happy memories of sitting on the toilet at work in the early 1990s and reading the latest edition. Seems like a lifetime ago. I love the fact that most of the girls in pictured here are probably grandmothers now! You can just picture the scene with the grand kids:
'Grandma, so what did you do for your first job?'. 'Err, I was in catering, now run along and buy yourself a lollypop'

I have to say that I've never sent (or received) a Valentines card, or seen any Bridget Jones movie.
To be honest you shouldn't need a day to say I love you, it should be all year round.
You have the luxury of a wife. Whom I'm sure you love very much, and vicer verser.
For me, it'll just be a day to reflect the people I do love, and the ones, no longer here.
I agree, that most could possibly be grandma's, but i hope they are well, and thank them for proving some unbelievable memories.
I often wonder how many younger folks in the group consider these images 'proper old'?
For us who remember these images when published, it was ground breaking and due to limited avenues to view WAM content back then this was pure gold. These ladies will forever remain young in my eyes and whilst over 30 years have past the imprint on the conscious remains fresh. I and so many older wammers are custodians of the pre Internet era. Bodly going it, totally alone.

You younger folk will feel the same in 30 years.
I guess it all depends on what vintage of duffer you are?! This sort of thing must have gone since time immemorial and I am just wondering where the Victorian Spolsher went for his/her jollies? In some respects the scene was so much more exciting and sexually charged back when I was younger. Less pictures, less opportunities to look at this sort of thing made there times when you were exposed to it all that more special. Now it is basically on tap 24/7 with just about every WAM fetish covered. I guess those kids just don't know what they are missing!
If you want to give yourself a real shock 30 years ago was 1995. In 1995 30 years was 1965. I don't know when you were born but I suspect you weren't! So you can just see how the kids might feel about something which was made before they actually existed!
...yes, when I look at these images me and those ladies will be forever young...
