So this past weekend I attended the Trucks Gone Wild event at a Missouri mud park. I went last year and on Sunday there were only about 5 people in the whole place. But this year they were pretty busy even on the last day. I think they had fewer trucks there as the mud pits were more watery than last year, although I did find several good mud holes to wallow in. I attempted a couple of videos, but one was too far away and another the tripod fell over so nothing to see there. I helped a fellow rider out of a rather deep hole early in the day. He was stuck in the deep water section of the pit, but there was some inviting mud that I decided I would come back later and check out. When I came back I dived into the muddiest part and was getting nice and muddy when I heard a truck drive by. It was a maintenance worker picking up trash, so I crawled over into the watery part and started washing up. Wasn't 100% sure if he saw me, but then he put the truck in reverse and came over to where I was. He asked if I was ok, and I told him I was just washing off some mud! He gave me the thumbs up and drove off. Later I was walking through a pretty deep pit when a couple drove by. They told me I was suppose to drive through the mud on an ATV, and I told them I was seeing how deep it was before I tried it. Secrectly, in the back of my head, I was hoping they would "dare" me to dive in. After spending most of the day avoiding an audience, I was almost ready to have someone watch me! I was able to get muddy 6 or 7 times and cleaned up in a nearby creek between muddy sessions. I love the ATV parks because the 4-wheelers and trucks can really churn the mud up nicely. Most mud volleyball games have been cancelled so this has been my only muddy outlet so far this year.
