There's this new WAM substance I've found that floats my boat. You might like it too.
A Korean company called Aprilskin have launched a face cream called TXA Niacinamide 99 Deep Cleanser (no link, no referral code BS, you can find it yourself) that can be used as a face mask. Other people have compared the texture of it to bubble gum, and I can absolutely see why. I love blowing gum bubbles and have them pop over my face, but I'm not good at it, so this is the way to get the mess I'm after. It's stickier and stringier than bubble gum, too. For those mutants among us who wish bubble gum were stickier and stringier still, to which I plead Very Very Guilty, it's well worth a go.
I wholeheartedly love the texture, love the colour and don't mind the scent. Some people even claim it's chewy and have blown soapy bubbles with it, but to them I say "wash your mouth out". You can find a lot of SFW videos of people trying it out on short-form video sites, and I dare say that some of them have got even messier than I have done, but I don't think anyone will have enjoyed it quite as much as me. (Bonus mess: you can even see a bit of Goop Quest thick green gunge on my left shoulder in some of the photos, so that's what I was up to beforehand.)
To use it, either put some into your hand, add water to turn it into a foam, and use it as regular face cream. Alternatively, get your face very very dry first, put far too much in your hand, pie it all over yourself and treat it as a face mask. I've tried gunge from Messy Supplies, Goop Quest and Messy Pup and enjoyed all of them, but the stringiness of this was texturally very satisfying. (To be fair, I haven't yet tried Messy Supplies' VIVI-slime, and perhaps that's what I need.) I'm prepared to believe there must exist pie or gunge materials that do the same thing, probably more cheaply, possibly more readily available, but not as easy to play with; I actively wish to be introduced to them, both to know what they are and to know what they feel like all over me.
The one thing to note is that it is face cream, and you are advised to wash it off after about a minute or so if you're using it as a face mask. It will tingle after you've washed it off, which is how you know it's working - there are Salicylic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid in there, whatever they are, and doubtless other active ingredients as well - but if you've left it on too long then your face will remain at least a bit pink afterwards. Those of us who remember Mickey Hutton on _Hangar 17_ being asked what gunge is made of, to which the answer was supposedly "custard and acid", will be delighted to learn how close the truth can be.
