Leaving aside the AI aspect (which already has multiple discussions), I'm curious about storyboarding. I know that these get used for adverts, movies, etc., but do producers ever make storyboards or animatics for WAM videos?
As far as I can tell, most producers either have fixed cameras (same positions for every video) or a handheld camera that gets aimed on the fly.
The main scenario where I can see them being useful is for a heavily scripted video, e.g. the 9 girl pie fight that RevSlymsford and MostWAM did a while back.
It wasn't for a video, but I've storyboarded WAM photoshoots before. A few AI-generated frames helped the model understand the wardrobe, posing, and general vibe that I was after. Day of the shoot she appreciated the head start in direction, helping her get ahead of practical modeling questions like "Am I bitchy or friendly? Am I terrified of getting slimed or am I playing along with it?" Here's the storyboard vs. the final product. Was it perfect translation? No, and that's good. It left room for improve and personal "flavor." Did this help her get "into character" faster than anyone I've directed before? Absolutely.
In my opinion, storyboards aren't just for camera movements and framing (although that's a HUGE component). A few subtle body language or facial expression decisions can vastly alter the trajectory of a story. If your talent knows how the story should feel beforehand, they're in a much better position to knock it out.
Living right next door to a filming/shoot location, (everyone's so young and attractive..... ), of course they 'story-board' their shoots... Sometimes they shoot the same scene 10/15 times....
But with 'WAM' shoots, I guess with most of these, it's pretty much 'just what happens'..... Would be pretty hard to just say 'Cut', and do it again, over and over.......
Sorry if the pixs I post come out somewhat 'blurry', they're 'clear' when I send 'em, don't know what happens to 'em....
