I stepped into the dry bathtub fully-dressed--tight blue jeans, a wool sweater, socks and sneakers still on my feet. I didn't sit down. I wanted to feel it all while standing.
I picked up the shower head and pointed it down, letting the spray hit my sneakers first. The sound of the water splashing and the way my socks squished inside made me smile instantly. I took my time, soaking them completely before moving the water up over my jeans. Slowly, the denim darkened and tightened as the water climbed higher.
When the spray reached my sweater, the thick wool drank it in until it clung heavily to my body. I made sure to cover every square inch, turning and twisting in the tub so nothing stayed dry.
Once I was drenched, I plugged the drain and let the shower keep running, filling the tub around me. Soon I was lowering myself into a fully-clothed bath, the weight of my soaked sweater pressing me down, my jeans hugging tighter, and my sneakers squishing with every move under the water.
After a good soak, I stood back up and climbed out, dripping onto the floor as I walked down the hallway. My shoes squeaked with each step, leaving little wet footprints behind me. I paused just to admire how shiny and clingy my clothes looked in the mirror.
But I wasn't done yet. Back in the tub, I turned on the jets and watched the foam rise higher and higher until I was lost in a sea of bubbles. They piled onto my sweater, floated across my jeans, and clung playfully to me as I splashed around.
When the bubbles finally settled, I rinsed off again. This time, I tugged off my sneakers, leaving my wet socks on. I slid my feet back into the water, enjoying how soft and warm they felt, showing them off as I stretched out and relaxed.
I ended the night with another rinse, another soak, savoring every second of my fully-clothed shower, bath, and bubble play.
