When I was a lurker, I remember seeing a post where someone thought there was a short pie in the face vignette before the "Love and the Baker's Half Dozen" skit on Love American Style. As someone who actually watched and enjoyed the episode when it was first aired, allow me to confirm that this is the case. In the vignette, one of the female vignette regulars was selling pies to one of the male vignette regulars. He selects a pie. She pies him with it, as if letting him taste it. He shakes his head to indicate that this isn't the pie he wants. He points to a second pie, and the scene repeats. He points to a third pie. She again pies him in the face. This time he gives the OK sign and nods his head yes, which is the end of the vignette. I enjoyed the vignette, but I was disappointed that the young lady didn't get pied. I think that they were shaving cream pies as they didn't splatter.
The actress in that Scene was Phyllis Davis, and the male was Stuart Margolin, i've been searching for that vinette for years, but it doesn't show up in any of their other vinettes.
