Seriously, they're over-ripe and pulverised to slop by the time of the festival. Of course, as all WAMmers know - even soft things feel like concrete if they've thrown at you hard enough.
Yes they will hurt a little, especially if it gets in your eye. A lot of them have gone off so they're a bit mushy, you're also advised to squeeze them a few times before having a toss.
