Wanna just interject here. We make videos because we like making the videos. We usually break just about even except for a few weeks where it was above average. We shoot on an iPhone with a $30 ring light/tripod. I edit it on my iPhone as well. Obviously we're not having to pay models but we're also not expecting to get rich off of making wam content. I'm a musician as well and it feels to me a similar ethos of making content or music because I enjoy doing it. If I happen to get a few bucks on it, great but if I don't, it's fine because I like to do it. Just my 2

I'll third this. I absolutely hated all pictures and video that I'm in (even clean) and a couple of years ago I set out to overcome it. Last year I finally got to the point where I was feeling a bit better about myself, and that's where the 'making videos because I wanted to make them for myself' thing comes in. A producer suggested I open a store with about a dozen ready to go and so far there are about six queued up on my computer.
OP, I do actually enjoy your content! As someone else said, some variety in materials used would be nice and honestly I wonder about your upfront costs because given the amount needed to fill up that pool I feel like it's got to be high. The pump *is* a thing of wonder but maybe it would still work with the pool filled up halfway or less? Please disregard if the cost of supplies isn't a big contributor.
I think your model selection and what they're in is great, but I'm heavily influenced by MW and others where the models look nice (it's just more fun that way IMO). For me, explicit is a negative rather than a plus and my preferences may not be representative of whatever the majority is.
Having more variety I think would help on the sales end, and maybe if supply cost is a high driver using less or new ways to use that nice, full pool I see could be thought up. Sitting down and relaxing in it, maybe going under or twice for example.
I helped Rob Blaine make videos in 93, made my first own video in 2005 and its rare I make a profit. I have had a full time job this whole time and funded videos out of my paycheck. Depending on your lifestyle and expenses I know its possible for some producers to make ends meet, but super hard to do. You have to make a lot of good quality vids, you have to market your product every day, social media, multiple distributors, its a full time job in many ways.
I think its great that people want to make product, even WAM is a general term, you kinda need to specialize in a specific type of WAM really, and do it really well. Even then I make a video that does not sell at all sometimes and that can really mess with your budget for the next few videos. Back in the day when Rob made videos he sold them on VHS for $60+ a go, but very few people were making content, those days have long gone alas.
I think Jayce and Messy Girl would have some good input on this subject, but make the best video you can, keep the price reasonable depending on what the shoot cost you. The startup cost is high if you want to produce quality, my Mud Pit cost $6K + to build, I have another $7K + in equipment for shooting and editing and that's before you even make a video.Shoots are hard work too, careful planing, finding good talent is hard, after a days shooting I am exhausted! Face first on the bed and 8 hours sleep is a must before I even download and check the footage. Female producers have much better margins almost 50% of my gross income form producing goes on modeling fees.
There is a toll on your personal life too! I have been dumped by many women because I produce smut, there is very real prejudice toward sex workers too, financially and personally. But this is all very negative, on the good side my movies will out live me and I have met some wonderful people and done some amazing things. I love the movie making process, the creativity is very rewarding especially when customers tell you have much they love your content.

If you want to make money, invest in the stock market.
It is possible to make a little money from WAM, but the ROI is low, and if you're serious about production everything you make will end up getting eaten up by further model fees. It took me 7 years just to start breaking even, and even now everything we make just goes back into making more scenes. The models do OK out of it for extra spending money, but I'll not be giving up the day-job any time soon.
Choices:
Option 1: Focus on fully clothed and while the market is smaller, you have fewer competitiors.
Option 2: Go full-hardcore porn-WAM, and the market is bigger but you've dozens more competitors and from what I've seen a worse piracy problem.
I wouldn't say that porn-WAM has ruined things though, it's been there since the start. If someone's fetish is for clothed WAM, then the presence or absense of porn scenes makes no difference. I've been here on UMD since the start, I'm only into fully clothed WAM and only ever will be. Nudity and actual sex are active turn-offs for me, so it's not as if I'm going to stop consuming clothed WAM and move to nude.

Tops left hanging down and blocking the view of the model's waist, lap, skirt, etc, is an automatic no-sale to me.
2. In the trailer we see that she steps into what looks like a deep pool of gunge - but her feet going into it happens off-camera? Why on earth was what would be a major money-shot for feet fans allowed to happen out of sight? Either the camera should have been panned down a bit as she stepped in, or she should have stepped in a bit further back so we could see her feet and shoes sinking into the gloop and then she could have walked forwards. I'm not a foot fetishist but a mistake like that means I then wonder what else will be missed that I might want to see.
3. This one is relatively minor and wouldn't be a deal-breaker if 1 and 2 above were right, but all the clutter in the background is offputting (and TBH I see the same in the previews for several of your scenes). Before rolling video, tidy the set. The big trash can isn't so bad but the towel hanging off the background wall hanging, and the pile of stuff next to the trashcan, just detract from the look. There's another scene that has what looks like disarded clothing in a doorway in the background.

I think this sums up my thoughts on the matter.
For me, I came into this with the purpose to create something different that is a merger of my two loves while still acknowledging the old. To create something very reminiscent of the legacy of the past such as Bert Rhine, Golden Girls, Triumph, Cal Supreme and Sweetheart Productions with an emphasis on making the best content possible through the use of cinematics, prime glass and best lighting. The thought was "what if someone with a deep love for production, photo and video could?" and I would like to think we have and with every shoot there is a new learning experience that forces me to raise the bar over and over and over again.
Having said, the one thing I accepted a LOOOOONG time ago was being rich was not in the cards. This is beyond money for me. This is my proving ground where I get to apply all the lessons I have learned in production and apply them into a fetish setting to create breath taking content. This is my attempt to bring something new to the table beyond cellphone video and iPhone Ring lights.
Will I make money? I don't know. I might break even eventually. Will I ever make the money for all the effort I put in? Absolutely not. Production is hard work and anyone telling you otherwise is lying to you. Even in a medium sized production, you will wear many hats, deal with many personalities and all the very same frustrations. At the end of the day, we don't do it for the money, we do it for the result. That is what makes it art.
My best suggestion is don't succumb to the comparison trap with other producers who have been here long before us or who are spitting out clips every 5 seconds. Find your niche and idea and most of all, BELIEVE IN IT! Believe in it so much that you have no other choice than to be the best at it. Hone your craft, even outside fetish shooting. Shoot action stills at a ballgame or just roam the woods with your camera and do some editing. Most of all, don't chase numbers. I have a longstanding rule I was taught from a mentor of mine years ago that I still follow to this day: "If you exhibit and adopt the right attitudes and behaviors, the money will always be there". You may not get rich with that philosophy nor will you be shooting 3 times a day but you will always be shooting and you will always have enough for the next shoot

That's one of the ones I was thinking about with that deep pool. It has "get in there!" written all over it but she's on the bucket the entire time. I feel like if she'd have gotten in at the end, or if that's the main focus of the scene it would do better.
Also if you're going to be in a video like that, the face can't stay clean. I think there are a lot of buyers like that.

But I honestly didn't really know of your store until this post. I went to look at it and then noticed you have some qualify stuff and I maybe even commented on one of your videos.
Making any kind of content is difficult. Even if you make an excellent product, it means nothing if people don't know of you. Ask people on OnlyFans. The vast majority of the successful people really create a brand and put a ton of effort and TIME into media presence. UMD, despite it's long time existance, is a very small corner of the internet appealing to a fairly unknown kink.
Being "successful" in this means drawing in people that don't know about WAM, having a strong presence on multiple social media platforms, and then focusing on the ones that draw in numbers.
Content isn't an issue with you. I think your content is great. But making money doing this is HARD and I do not recommend it as a primary source of income. That said, if that's not your goal, who's to say you can't make a release every couple months or so. If you have a strong presence, comments on other people's things and people know and interact with you, you'll build that much more anticipation when you say you have a release coming!

I think the one trap that is easy to fall into is the "I must constantly be outputting content" trap. More and more, I have been seeing content creators and producers alike running into burnout trying to maintain an unrealistic pace to "stay relevant". Going back to my prior point, if you believe in your product, there is no need to "stay relevant". You already are relevant. You have a great product! What matters from that point on is consistency and interactioneven if you're only doing a single release a month. Again, you're not going to be rich doing this and the odds of that happening rival getting signed to a label after only playing a few live shows so you may as well have fun doing it vs worrying on whether or not your work will pay immediate dividends.
Bottom line is if it becomes more of a chore, you're not going to want to continue doing it. It's a rewarding feeling, producing but it takes a huge strain on you mentally, emotionally and physically as well as financially. Lesson here: Pace yourself, be patient, have fun!

1. The girls are attractive and usually wearing very nice outfits.
2. The mess is HUGE, not just a little bucket full, but a whole shit-ton of lovely slime.
3. You're not afraid to let things splatter! So many times I see a carefully and slowly poured bucket of slime held over a model's head, with not a single drop going elsewhere. Your videos have the SPLAT factor, which is a bonus.
Here's a couple of suggestions:
1. Your titles, logo, etc. look somewhat amateurish compared to the high quality of your material. Consider improving on that aspect. First impressions are important and you don't want a logo that looks like it was made 20 years ago on a Radio Shack computer.
2. I was teased by the sheer amount of slime in the bottom of the tubs and pools, and was hoping the girls would end the scene by getting down in it and rolling or sliding around. They are already totally messy, so it wouldn't take more cleanup or much more time. That would have sold me on buying a few of them. I did see one of your girls did exactly that though, which is great!
I had suggested the 'playing in the mess' at the end of the scene before, and another producer on here said it would cause more mess to clean up, and waste more time, so instead of getting maybe 5 videos shot, it would hold them back at maybe 4. I don't see it though. I'm talking maybe 1 to 3 minutes of playing in the deep mess. In my situation, that would be the deciding factor on me making a purchase, and I think some others might feel the same.

Agreed, and it's what's personally keeping me from opening up. The tagging system can snuff the life right out of things.

Yeah, I find the pornification of WAM really annoying too, but the reason it happens is because that's what makes the easiest money.
So if you really want to get into the WAM "business" those are the type of decisions you need to be thinking about. Now you don't have to go the porn route. You can commission customs to the smaller market that loves what you do. But whatever you do, it's going to be a lot of work on your end and a lot of compromise setting your preferences aside for the sake of making money. You might not like it, but that's the price of a profit motive.
And that's the case for all successful business: hard work, financial investment, and come-to-Jesus moments for years until the endeavor starts supporting itself. If anything, it's even harder in WAM, where you can't SEO and expand your way out of ruts. I'm not sure what you expected by this point in your journey, but if the lights are still on and you've got people who care whether you quit or not, you're doing pretty well.
But if you need to turn profits right now then yeah, you should probably quit.
Yeah I understand that, I'm trying to find ways to adapt and survive but it's not proving easy. I'm hoping to make profits off other businesses I have to then feed into this to help counterbalance the offset a little bit. Looking at all possible ways to be more efficient with things to improve time management and cost savings while outputting better content.

That's honestly not a bad idea to be honest, the problem is finding those models and then finding ones that don't won't a ridiculous amount of money for it.
It's proving incredibly hard to find models let alone ones who will do that so i'm going to have to change up how I go about searching for models, I have a couple of different ideas I want to try though so I'll see how that goes.

Though if you want to film them in person you will surely need other models you have worked with to vouch for you, there must be some kind of online platform for building your reputation as a safe producer. Also, caveat emptor (not that I want to dehumanise the models of course but if they will work for less than you expect then don't expect 100% reliability etc.).
As for making enough profit from WAM vids to fund new videos on I can only suggest you talk to those who are doing so. I believe the Reverend Slymford and Messygirl do this. Perhaps there are some more but I understand that for most producers it is a labour of love more than a business venture. I'm not a financial advisor but if you asked me the best way to invest $2,000 I would not say "upgrade your slime tank".

Yeah trying to find models who are in that position of doing a gap year though is quite hard, i'm not the greatest people skills person nor do I have the greatest communication either lol, so just going around the street at backpacker hot locations asking for backpackers or travellers to do this isn't one of my strong points.
I only do in person shoots to be honest as i'm very fussy with how I direct my scenes, very rarely will I ever get a scene done that's outside of my control of directing it hence why I don't do collaborations very often.
As far as the onlyfans stuff is concerned, most models here have this weird idea that getting slimed and messy or doing fetish type stuff is too far but yet post highly explicit practically nude lingerie photos on their of account. I've tried with numerous different of girls here, they are either full of shit about doing wam or they expect you to book a hotel room overnight to meet them there for a 5 or 10 minute meeting.. and 99% of the time from what i'm aware of, you have to actually subscribe to a creators content before you can message them. If someone can clarify this or not? So i'm not 100% sure
The investment into the tank would also drastically improve my time management with setup and packdown/cleanup and would also drastically reduce my materials costs due to using less materials to get a useable amount of slime for the pumps. It looks more professional as well and opens up a lot more opportunities for different types of scenes and storyline's as this is a dual compartment tank so i could eventually do 2 model challenge/gameshow style scenes and pit 2 models against each other. I totally get and understand your pov with the not dropping 2k on a tank upgrade when i'm struggling financially as it is but the way I see it is the big investment on the tank itself will also offset and reduce costs for materials and consumable equipment used for prep and protection such as tarping due to there not needing to be so much because the only part that can slime spraying out of the tank is in front reslly amd a little bit on the side. It will also drastically improve my setup packdown times, make it much easier and quicker to setup so I can then get more shoots underway sooner and not be so rushed with everything, so more productivity, due to the design of the tank It will be much much Easier to mid the slime and then with cleanup it will be quick and easy as well as again due to the design I could just dilute the slime with water and put a smaller transfer pump and hose in the tank and then pump it all out, again due to the design I could also do an entire tank cleaning with a very large level of ease while the tank is being drained by the pump at the same time therefore Leaving me with a lot more time to get other things done and I won't be doing 3 days straight with no sleep while driving 1600kms throughout the whole weekend. It's a big investment but I think when I put all this down on paper I think the cost of it is less then the amount of help it will give me in the above aspect of things.

Yes I have noticed this as well, having a partner who's into it as well and can not only do shoots that don't cost anything for a model payment is very handy along with actually being heavily involved with different parts and aspects of the business to help out with everything. I'm lacking that at this point unfortunately so that's part of my issue.
None of my models actually do this outside of doing scenes for my store and they don't do any modelling either although one of them does have an onlyfans account.
The problem with the girl next door type people here is they don't want to get on camera because they don't like being on camera. The problem here is that it goes from one extreme to another with practically nothing in between and it's so annoying
I plan on improving my camera setup in the near future with a few Dji cameras to add more viewing angles to add to scenes for a total purchase package so that will hopefully help a fair bit. Also looking at a laptop as well

It's a great idea but here in Australia we are weird asf, paint parties where people go to nightclubs and get covered in paint is considered normal but yet getting slimed in a tank isn't considered normal and called weird so very few people would be interested in that.
