Distinguished members of the UMD! It is far beyond time that we had some fun! Being me, I have done something rash as a F U to a difficult year: I have booked a venue for The Sploshcars 2024!

The event will be: 28th September 13:00 - 15:30 around Whitechapel, East London, decanting to nearby facilities shortly afterwards.

Now, some of you may say "but that was Penny's event?!". Yes, it was and IS, and I have spoken with Penny recently and confirmed that I am clear to host this year's event myself in her absence! (receipts available)

Again, I apologise for the short notice. In my own community I can organise things at the drop of a hat; but outside it has proven a little more difficult and time has flown by as I've fought to get a suitable venue (you won't believe HOW GOOD it is or what we can do in there!) and a top-class host ("OOH!!! MYSTERY!!! Who's the host?!" - You'll have to wait but that news is coming VERY soon!).


This is a ONE-OFF! The venue itself will cost me ~£1k - because it's going to be FANCY!!! - but your tickets will cost you NOTHING. "WHAT?!" I hear you say "How is that possible?!" - it's possible because I think that people in the world and on UMD have been through far too much sh*t without any good, honest fun happening. I think in a world of turmoil and financial uncertainty for most, I am going to take a stand and do something good for a community that I'd love to be more a part of and one I'd love to help grow IRL going forward! As Obama said "be the change you want to see". (I'm making no political point there, it's just a great quote!)


But I'll need your help...

1. Tickets are available here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-sploshcars-2024-tickets-996696123937 - even though it's free I'd really appreciate people grabbing a ticket so we can get some idea of the numbers.

2. Categories for the awards are listed below! Please send your nominations to me via DM (feel free to discuss them in this thread too)! It can be for any film/person, etc. that the category calls for, that came into existence after the last Messtival (May 2022) [Edit: This event is not associated with that event or its crew in any way]. Shortlisting of nominations will close in 1 week's time on 25th August! (YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE AN ATTENDEE TO VOTE! Anyone on UMD can!)

Well, the next one (if there is a next one) will probably have to be a paid event. For this one though there is an interesting idea of making some of those seats paid opportunities and then donating the payments to charity. (I'm looking at the details of our charity things atm. If you were on the fet scene you'd know that I tend to donate all my profits to charities like Shelter, Mermaids, etc.)

It's great that you are arranging this (arranging anything in life is a pain, let alone something on this scale ) and I hope it will be well attended

Are the nominees limited to the UMD, or can they be messy producers / models from outside? For example SploshMuffin is a high profile splosher who produces great material but doesn't necessarily sell through the UMD. Scenes she has shot with other producers may appear on here, but not her own material.

Nominees can be from anywhere as long as I can get contact with them (because, if they're in the 'final 3', then I need a sub-1 min 'highlights reel' for the clip; and them to be able to do an acceptance speech (preferably in-person but obvs a pre-recorded if they're not in the UI). More on that to follow...

Incidentally PLEASE DO NOMINATE!! (Otherwise I'm sat there 2 weeks before trying to guess what you guys like and I'm not sure that'll end well!! ) Please show your favourite produces lots of love for their work and give them a nomination!!
