Hi Bozo, Ah yes good old Hurley. Yes the days of the cliptape compilations are over now. Hurley was the glue that got wammers, in particular the pied female fans, together. He ran a shoestring operation but uncovered so much great material back in the day. And his monthly Magnum Report newsletters were entertaining to read. His dedication to wam is missed.
While I'll agree that Rogerio is compiling a hefty catalog of good pie stuff, his labeling system is a librarian's nightmare.
It's like a bookshelf where all of the spines read: "Book with words", "Book with good words", "Book with words", "Good book of words", "Book with words"...
There's still a market for clips. Once in a while someone will ask me to compile clips for them on DVD or as downloads. Prices are (roughly) comparable to Hurley's, quality is much better, obviously. Everything from the last few years of Passa ou Repassa, to all the Chega Mais stuff, to the College Madhouse and other stuff that was on sale at Vidown (when the rules allowed it), to stuff from my personal collection. Having everything gathered in one spot (or one download), at the best quality possible, is still worth something to a few.
I don't think you can flaunt it out in the open anymore like Hurley used to, though. My fear with Rogerio is that anytime SBT (or one of the other stations) feels like reporting copyright violations, his whole channel goes away. And take it from someone who once had his OWN clips banned by YouTube for "violating community standards" (including a model sitting on a stool, fully clothed, and talking WITHOUT getting messy).... YouTube can pretty much do whatever they want and you have NO recourse.
I still check out all his posts, but that's mostly insurance. "Girl takes 2 pies from guy" could be LITERALLY anything. Once in a blue moon it's something I haven't seen. (Spotted a good Japanese clip that was a newer version of the "pie thrown through tennis racket" gag they used to do.) And agreed, the clips would be a far more valuable resource if they were labeled ("Domingo Legal, Millie hits from 5-9-14" for instance), and, ideally, kept at the original resolution. (Most all the DL clips were uploaded in 1080p or 720p, for instance, rather than 480p.)
Thanks. No need to worry, I like to disseminate these videos, like that the more people watch and have fun, not think about selling on VHS or DVD. Regarding my way of labeling, it is true, over time ends up getting confused, but I started doing that and while I think to maintain. I hope you continue enjoying the videos.
